The Good: :: cute restaurant in a cute old house! :: everyone was very nice :: newspaper machine in front so you can read the local paper if you have time to kill while you wait for a table :: breakfast was so good. i looove me some eggs benedict! :: hot coffee was constantly refilled :: fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juice! yum!!! :: indoor and outdoor seating. with the weather as gorgeous as it is in colorado, do yourself a favor and sit outside :: very delicious looking menu. too bad we didn't get to eat more of everything they had. The Bad: :: it can definitely get crowded here on a weekend, especially a holiday weekend The Ugly: :: none. Would I go back? Definitely. Next time I am in the city, I will make it my plan to go back to try more of their delicious-sounding dishes. This place is IN.

So there is always a wait at Lucile's that is just a given. Last time I was here we waited for fifteen minutes. All in all not bad at all. Here comes the part I didn't like. After getting seated it took 45 minutes to finally get our food. You always know that something is wrong when people that got seated after you are getting ready to leave. We managed to catch a waitress which went to go investigate where our food went and it was coming to us just as she went to look. Kind of frustrating. the food was as good as ever so we will be back and will wipe out plenty of time for a long wait.

Beignet there, done that. After living in FoCo for close to two years and hearing the constant kudos from friends about the ever famous Lucile's, I finally decided to drag myself out of bed one Sunday morning to see what all the fuss was about. I was lucky enough to find street parking right in front of the brightly yellow-colored house. My friends had already arrived and placed our names on the waiting list. It was about 10-15 minutes which was surprising on a Sunday morning. Our waitress was very friendly and patient with us even though we could tell she had a lot of other customers to attend to. We settled with our coffee and tea and waited on the edge of our seats for the beignets to arrive. The humongous puffs of dough came warm and covered in powdered sugar. I just couldn't bother with a knife and fork so I picked up my little powder puff and sunk my teeth into it. Let me just say, I'm not an emotional person but that day I cried...out of sheer joy. It was by far one of the best things I've ever eaten. If my friends hadn't been there I would have eaten the whole plate by myself. I don't quite remember what I ordered as far as a meal, I was still in shock from the emotional bond that I had with my powdered sugar lover, but I do remember really enjoying the potatoes. Fat girls around the world grab your forks and dig in!

Best breakfast in Ft. Collins. I've had nearly everything on the menu - but my favorite is Eggs Pontchartrain!
(5)Lindsay K.
All the Lucile's are delightful - Fort Collins + Boulder especially. I highly recommend a plate of beignets for the table. Can't go wrong there. I always get the Farmers Eggs - so tasty. The portions can be very large - so be sure you plan accordingly, or bring leftovers home :) The homemade ketchup and jam on the table are tasty.

Oh man. This is by far the BEST place to find weekend breakfast grub in Fort Collins. It's heaven I promise! Enough food to fill you up for the day, great service with smiles everywhere you turn, the music is awesome for a sunny saturday morning, and the atmosphere is lovely with a touch of liveliness. I really, really, love this place :)
(5)Chris H.
phenomenal. loved the atmosphere, decor and unique feel of this restaurant. I ordered the Eggs Pontchartrain because it seemed to be really fun and different. The fish was tasty and delicious and the sauce was a perfect complement with the fish. the "biscuit" that was served with the dish was ridiculously large and was one of the best homemade biscuits that I have ever had especially when accompanied by the homemade strawberry preserves. also ordered the fresh squeezed OJ and it was perfect. I would definitely go back because I want to try all of the dishes on their menu!
(5)Brian K.
In a word - home-made. Homemade recipes with homemade ingredients. The hm biscuits with hm apple butter and strawberry rhubarb were fantastic. The hm creamed spinach with poached eggs with hm hollandaise sauce were delish. I sat at the bar and got quick service with a smile. What a great little place - a MUST!
(5)Artie L.
We went here and were NOT impressed on any level. Overpriced food. The place was sticky (humid and not clean) I ordered a waffle that was not bad - but average at best. The beignets were a joke though. They were glorified sopapillas and we didn't even get all that came in an order. Our waitress was ok, but not too friendly. We won't be going back - no thanks!
(1)Foco L.
Lucile's is the best breakfast restaurant in Fort Collins. Everything about it...the food, the atmosphere, the food, the cloth napkins. I love going here, but the wait for a table is the only bad thing.
(5)Snowbunny S.
Colorado has a low standard for delicious New Orleans cuisine. Very bland food, so very bland. Even the table spice was bland and somewhat dirty. We were physically cold. The front door doesn't close and a freezer like breeze riffles through the small place. I would suggest a door exterior enclosure like many of Chicago and New York's eateries. I ordered an eggs, spinach with shrimp dish. It was cold. The hollandaise sauce souped on my plate. All my food was cold and the poor shrimp I think was something from a frozen bag and beat to death in a microwave--no flavor. The biscuits were blackened and not hot either(I think from Bisquick) Not the flakey biscuits from the South. Toys for children were deathly dirty.'

We are in town from Portland and this place made us feel at home. I had the Cajun omelet with potatoes. Pretty durn good!! I loved the huge biscuit and strawberry rhubarb jam too. Our waitress was adorably nice too (I forgot her name). The servings were huge and the prices were low. My kid of place!
(5)Andy B.
My favorite breakfast restaurant in Colorado. Need I say more? The best, in my opinion, is the eggs ponchatrain.
(5)Nora A.
The food is good, and the jams even better! It is ALWAYS busy, with people waiting on the steps outside. The only drawback I see? Too crowded, and no regular vinegar for the greens. (only HOT) Take a visitor here and enjoy their praises to you for finding the perfect place for breakfast/brunch!
(4)Lindsey K.
My hungover friends and I needed a fix, a fix of hearty healing food and some caffeine. We made our way to Lucile's through the snow and were relieved that there was no wait. We were seated and brought some coffee and a killer cup of hot chocolate. This coco is not average... its packed with cinnamon and nutmeg and some other fantastic ingredients and piled high with whipped cream. We each ordered something different and each dish was amazing in its own way. Mine was beany, meaty, and saucy. I had a gigantic biscuit to sop up hollandaise, gravy, and spoon on some of the yummy preserves situated at the end of the table. One of my friends had the pain perdue with came with a side of syrup that is not your average syrup. Its like a butter infused sugary syrupy goodness that eliminates the need to butter your toast. I put some of that on my biscuit too. Oh Lucile's... how do your waitresses stay so thin? I loved everything about this place. From the cute cloth napkins, to the welcoming coffee bar, and the kids books and toys. I actually wish lived in FC, just so I could be regular.

I went to college in Fort Collins, but as a Louisiana native, I almost never try anything "Cajun" if it's outside of my home state. My big suprise? The owner of the restaurant is from Kaplan, Louisiana (where my family is from - WOOT!). I took my grandparents there, and they knew all the people in the pictures on the wall. This is the Real Deal. The biscuits and jam are the best I've had anywhere. The coffee is fantastic. The grits and red beans are excellent. I've never had anything less than wonderful there. The wait can be atrocious, so come early, but it is so worth it. Adorable setting - very homey and cozy place to eat and linger over coffee. This is one of my favorite breakfast places of all time. Love, love, love it.
(5)Thao T.
Really cozy place and delicious food! We came on a Friday morning, which happened to be graduation day at CSU, so I guess it explains our hour long wait for breakfast, which became more like lunch =P Their beignets were fantastic and tasted awesome with their homemade jams and marmalade (I liked the orange and berry). I got the veggie eggs benedict (spinach, tomatoes, avocado) and my friend got the eggplant dish. We shared and both were very delicious. I had never had real cajun food, so this was very tasty indeed.
(4)Krissie P.
I had been dying to try this place forever. no matter what time or day I went it was always packed. A great sign in my mind but a horrible thing for my tummy. Finally I decided with all I had heard it must be worth the wait. I am pretty sure I am the only person in the Fort that does not care for this place. First off, the menu didn't really appeal to me at all. I felt like instead of having to choose between 6 things that I wanted, I was choosing between the two things I would eat. The biscuit rocked but I had no idea what would come next. I ordered "the farmers eggs". What they fail to tell you is that he must have been a potato farmer. The whole plate.. potatoes. I love potatoes but... what about all the other yummy things that were supposed to be in there? I don't remember what my boyfriend ordered but it too was all potatoes. The thing that bothered me most about this place was our very bitchy waitress. She seemed reluctant to even serve us. She huffed and puffed while we ordered and- if looks could kill! She brought me my coffee (in the most mini coffee cup ever) and I thought she was going to throw up when I asked for cream! I loved house and the cute cloth scrap napkins and my potatoes WERE delicious... but I will probably never go there again. =/
(3)Carolyn P.
Food is good...cajun and homemade jams. The rhubarb was delicious. The hostess to seat us was unfriendly, didn't smile. When I paid she never said "thank you" or "how was it?". She was not an asset to this restaurant.
(3)Bran H.
This is my favorite breakfast/brunch stop in town. The food has always been amazing. Everything is great from the coffee to the beignets to the eggs Jennifer. The specials are pretty awesome too. Don't forget to get a biscuit to eat with the jam/preserves.
(5)Teicho S.
I moved out of town a few years ago and every time I come back I try to make it to Lucille's. I have no experience with southern food aside from some disastrous attempts at barbecue so can't speak as to authenticity. But the food is good, the staff is friendly, the restaurant is charming and aside from the crowd (which can be pretty darn big), it's a wonderful place to get brunch. The marmalade especially is incredible and the spice tea is amazing. So amazing, in fact, that I managed to convince my favorite local cafe to carry it on the menu. Here's to a taste of home from 1200 miles away!
(5)Rob L.
Talk about putting Snooze to snooze! This place ROCKED! Service was GREAT! Food was AWESOME! Apparently there's one in Boulder & in Denver, I'll have to check them out too but for now this place is a WINNER! I had the Cajun Breakfast, SO good! The one that was the biggest winner was the gravy along with the biscuits that they give you before your meal comes out; I mean seriously, the biscuit smothered in the gravy is a meal in itself! Alls I know is that if I ever find myself back in Boulder for brunch I am SO here!
(5)Barrett R.
Excellent cajun breakfast and homemade style.
(5)George G.
Best breakfast in town. Period.

While on a visit to my sister in Fort Collins, I decided that I would be nice and take my sister out to breakfast. She gave me a few options but said that she had wanted to try this place forever, but it always had a line. We decided to go for it anyway and called ahead. The hostess first said 20-25 min, and then changed it to 30-35 (for 2.5 people). This is on a late Wednesday morning, mind you, but the place was packed. After 45 minutes we were squished into a tiny table in the corner, but we were just happy to sit down. We both ordered coffee which turned out to be tasty and decently strong. We passed on the beignets since the portions were so big. The menu has a lot of choices, and I was probably looking it over for a good 15 minutes before I could pick just one thing. I settled on the eggs Jennifer (eggs benedict with tomato, spinach and avocado) and my sister got a dish that involved poached eggs over eggplant with creole sauce. They bring the huge biscuits out first, which is nice because you have something to munch on while you're waiting. I usually am not a fan of biscuits but these were light and airy. Their homemade strawberry rhubarb jam and orange marmalade were out of this world. I may or may not have eaten them with a spoon. Our entrees arrived fairly quickly, on huge plates. Both dishes were amazing and flavorful. The potatoes were awesome, a little spicy and crispy. The hot sauce they had on the table (homemade as well I think) was a great addition. We ordered a side of hot Louisiana sausage since she told us the Andouille was not actually spicy, and that was great as well. We left so, so stuffed but extremely happy. The prices were fair, around $10 for breakfast entrees with huge portions. They offered a half portion option but we couldn't resist. Minus one star for the wait, and the heavily underestimated quote. Since we had a 2 year old with us, if we knew it would be that long we might not have stayed.

Although I am truly foreign to authentic New Orleans cuisine, having never visited there, I am fully enamored of Lucile's. I've been to the location in Fort Collins, and also in Denver, and have had equally delicious and consistent meals. I always start with a Cajun Mary, which isn't readily advertised, but it absolutely delicious, with a jumbo shrimp as a unique garnish. Usually, I order "Hank's Egg's", which is a cheesy and delicious treat, albeit entirely unhealthy. Their biscuits are delicious, as is the homemade jam which is on each table. The wait usually is ridiculously long, but it's easy to see why. You won't be disappointed!
(5)Darika S.
Give me a break people?! This is the worst "southern food" I have ever had. Is it because I was born in the South and I need some freakin' flavor? Okay I would eat their biscuits, but that's all. I've been to two locations and think it's just overpriced food that I can do much better at less than half of what I pay for there. But if you want some real southern food, try somewhere else or get your own crock pot going...
(2)Craig L.
A tiny little place with great food. My favorite breakfast in Fort Collins. Service is always great. You will usually have to wait but it is worth it.
(4)Yvonne C.
I've been hearing about this place for a long time and I'm happy I finally tried their food. Our group was lucky that got there when we did because our wait was only 10 minutes but our friends that showed up 15 minutes later waited about 45 minutes before they were seated. However long the wait, it was completely worth it! Their biscuit is to die for. This is not your normal, run of the mill biscuit. This is better. Feel free to slather on some more butter, some jam, or eat it plain. I ordered one of the scrambles and if I wasn't in such bad shape, I would have eaten the entire plate. I was worried about adding bacon to my meatless scramble because most places would scrimp on the bacon and charge you for an entire pig. Let's just say I think I ate an entire pig. Come here for breakfast or any of their other locations and I'm sure you'll be happy. Service was wonderful, I had a lovely conversation about where our hostess purchased her beautiful boots. :)
(4)Brandyn H.
Great restaurant, quality ingredients really show through in their food. Breakfast is Great, but it is pretty typical breakfast menu. However Lunch has unique items that are delicious as well.
(4)Kris G.
I visit the Loveland-Fort Collins area a couple times of year to visit friends. Each trip would not be complete without a stop here. I adore the homemade hot chocolate and beignets (yum!!!) Last fall I was there for my birthday and we went here to celebrate. I got the special that day which was chocolate eclair pancakes which were ever so amazing. I could only eat half of them, but I enjoyed each bite. Great food and friendly service.
(5)Patrick O.
If Lucile's is how I remember it, the posts here on Yelp could not be more than spot on. Lucile's is PERFECT for a Sunday brunch and features some of the most unbelievable items I've ever seen in my life. I remember having the biscuits and gravy, which was, to this day, the best I've ever had in my life. Word to the wise, you WILL fall asleep after eating here, that's a fact.
(5)Aaron K.
Food and service are always great, my favorite biscuits and gravy in Fort Collins..., by far! There is always a long wait as this restaurant is located inside a house, which is quaint but due to it's deserved popularity means it's always a long ordeal and the seating can be very cramped if you are tall. Parking can also be an issue as it is limited to street, the lot that you think you may be able to park in will tow you if you park there. One of my friends actually got in a heated argument with the parking lot nazi. Fabulous food however be prepared to wait.
(4)Christina G.
Be prepared for a cardiac infarction. This breakfast place is "southern" which means everything is fried, buttered and sweetened. It is local, and tasty, but as a vegan-leaning-vegetarian, I won't be back anytime soon.
(2)Kelly V.
Loved this place. Service was great and food was thee best
(5)Emily N.
Amazing food, good prices! I recommend this place if you're looking for a different breakfast place. Most of the best items on the menu are not low-calorie, be warned, but if that doesn't keep you up at night, try the beignets! The strawberry rhubarb jam is delicious on those and the biscuits!
(5)Alicia S.
Hands down my favorite breakfast place in the Fort. Yes, it is heavy food, but you have to expect that from a pseudo-Creole restaurant. The location has a lot of old-school charm with handmade napkins and homemade jam. Homemade. I'd say the thing I like best about this restaurant is that EVERYTHING is homemade. And by I homemade, I mean from scratch. So, if you head here make sure you like bold flavors, because nothing is subtle at this place, and also make sure you hit the treadmill later that day. I'd suggest the pecan waffle for those who have a sweet tooth or the Eggs Sardou if you like creamy things. The syrup with the waffle is praline syrup, and it is covered in candied pecans with fresh whip cream. The egg dish can be overwhelming if you aren't a spinach or cream-y fan, but if you are I recommend getting it with grits. All in all, great, bold, heavy food in gigantic portions!!
(5)Jessie J.
What's not to love. The staff is awesome and the food rocks.
(5)Marzia C.
Looking for tasty food in Fort Collins? Lucile's is sure to deliver. From breakfast items to entrees, everything is super tasty and made with love. Our party of 13 -7 adults and 6 children- was swiftly seated for lunch with a short 15 minute lead time. We sampled several po' boys, the lovely bignees, egg sardu, pain perdu, and salad; everything was delicious and made with quality ingredients. The biscuits and corn bread were "dessert-good," as were the homemade preserves. The caramel syrup served with the pain perdu got thumbs up from everyone. Service was great, delivered by friendly and attentive staff. I left with a t-shirt as a reminder of this lovely dining experience.

My boyfriend and i tried Lucile's one weekend when we came to house hunt for our move to Fort Collins. We are both from the South and like Cajun food. Lucile's surpassed all my expectations! We surprisingly didn't have to wait very long for a table. Our server was friendly and helpful. We told her it was our first visit. She suggested we try the beignets and I am an avid tea drinker so I had the Spice Tea. It was very flavorful and perfect for the chilly weather. We both have huge sweet tooth's so the beignets were spot on. The portions are huge too. I ordered the half order of the Farmer's Eggs and didn't even finish all of my food. My boyfriend had the Eggs Pontchartrain and it was amazing. His parent's are coming to visit soon and we plan on taking them there. We left happy and stuffed!
(5)Mark L.
I have been going to Luciles for years. we went this Sunday, experienced the 30 min wait with a couple of Mamosa's in hand (~20$ for two but with fresh squeezed OJ), sat at the bar and ordered. My wife's breakfast came and it had quite a few potato's for her liking. Our server saw she wasn't happy and took her order for two poached eggs in place. We were not charged for the order and she make it right with no problems or issues. I will continue to visit Lucile's, a great place in FtC.
(5)Lauran H.
Cajun cooking in Colorado- it's all good! Beignets are amazing and the 4" square biscuits that come with many entrees are so light and fluffy, with fresh jams made on site: rhubarb-strawberry and blueberry- yummy! Fresh squeezed lemonade, orange and grapefruit juices all add to your meal. Great service. Great setting - we really felt like we were in someone's house in the South eating a home made spread. We had to wait a bit on a Friday mid morning for our breakfast but Lucille's is worth the wait!!!!!
(5)Mike M.
Our Ft. Collins friends took us here when we came to visit. It was great! The beignets were a delicious way to start the breakfast. We came on a weekday and were able to get a table right away. We had the trout, New Orleans Omelette and the French Toast (forgot the actual name of the dish) with Carmel sauce. Everything was super. The ambiance was really quaint and cute too.
(5)Meggin R.
I have been to Lucile's several times with my grandma, and we are always in heaven. And always leave stuffed to the gills. This time was the first time that I got a "bisquet" with my entree. If by that you mean a quarter pan of heaven. You very well may collapse in delight after trying these. As I told my grandmother, you don't need butter. They melt in your mouth with heart stopping wonderfulness. The shrimp creole was amazing, and of course you have to get the bengiets. The jam is perfect with them. My grandma had the Zydeco salad, and it was beautifully plated, and was just as delicous as it looked. We go there often, and never leave disappointed. To balance, though, the seating is a bit of a problem. You are always crammed in, and there is never enough room on the table for all of your plates of goodies. But the food and the charming atmosphere make up for it.
(5)Bill E.
Lucile's is a mainstay in the Old Town breakfast/lunch scene. Set in an adorable yellow house (but not sure about the artwork/mural they recently painted on the side of it), it has a distinctly cajun theme -- from the artwork to the menu. We go there mainly for the breakfast. There are two must-order dishes -- the beignets, and the biscuits and gravy. It's the only place where I will have biscuits and gravy, since I'm pretty sure just staring at the gravy will add a couple inches to my waistline. I didn't have coffee when I went, but I know people rave about the coffee. My only complaint about the place -- the wait. Often there is a lengthy wait, and there is no extra room inside the restaurant to sit. Also, it's not next to any other places to go have a cup of coffee, etc. while waiting. Definitely check out this place -- great menu, charming atmosphere, and great service. Just be ready to wait, especially on weekends.
(4)Ankle B.
I travel for a living, am a Bay Area native, and eat like a fiend, so don't take what I say lightly.....THIS IS THE BEST BREAKFAST IN AMERICA. I would give Lucile's a 6 star rating if I could. From the portions to the flavor to the service, Lucile's can't be beat. I've never had a breakfast so hearty, flavorful, and otherwise heavenly. I've been to NOLA many a time, and I hate to say it but.....I just haven't had a better breakfast, even there. The Farmer's eggs, Hank's Eggs, the Praline Waffle, the Pain Perdu, the Gumbo, the Po' Boys..... I can go on and on. Even the homemade Ketchup, hot sauce, marmalade, and ice tea will knock you flat. Whenever I make my rounds in CO, I go to every single Lucile's location, and while the food is identically consistent in taste, the Lucile's in the Fort is my fave because of the old victorian. If you're lucky enough to eat there on a nice day, grab a table out on the patio. Eat there, you'll be transformed.
(5)Marc C.
This place is awesome! Tons of creative specialty breakfasts. Loved the Farmer's Eggs scramble and the sausage gravy. The beignets are good and I want to try the banana ones next time. The home made jams are amazing. This is also definitely a cool local hangout. Students and locals show up in droves and often there can be a wait with lots of them putting down their names and hanging out in the sun out on the sidewalk. The restaurant looks like a nice yellow house with a garden in front and trees, which makes it very homey, and inside it is crowded with tables and lots of activity. There are many attractive waitresses, which adds to the ambiance. This is the place to go for breakfast in Fort Collins.
(5)Matt T.
I've visisted the Lucile's in Longmont and this one did the same great job. Excellent Creole omlette with ham and sausage...potatoes done just right with nice seasoning. Service was prompt and friendly even though the place was rockin busy. One small drawback was ordering a Diet Coke...it's served in the old school bottles, which is a nice touch...but 2.00 for an 8 ounce soda?? That is the far side of ridiculous...at the very least go 12 ounces....other than that, a nice experience.
(4)James W.
Lucile's is one of my few fav places for bkfst/lunch in FC, where I work. At this point, I like this one better than the one in Boulder, where I live, cause of the better layout, cool patio/deck, and the nicer friendly staff. And like others, I've found some of those Boulder Lucile's ladies can be somewhat grumpy or gruff in demeanor. So food here is always tasty & they are busy during the lunch hour. I'm fond of their Creole/New Orleans cooking and like the biscuits, cornbread, beignets, spiced tea, po' boys, gumbo. And anything eggs is pretty good too. This is a good place to stuff yo' face! Oh, and did I say already that the gals working here are NICE?
(4)Melissa M.
Simply amazing! Worth the wait!
(5)Marty S.
Fantastic Cajun restaurant. Nice portions and everyone of them is a taste treat. Can be very crowded on weekends and even more so on special days like Mothers Day, arrive early to get immediate seating.
(5)Dawn S.
A true Fort Collins staple. Worth the wait everytime. The waitstaff is amazing and I crave the buttermilk biscuits every weekend.
(5)Bruce E.
Beignets, sausage and rhubard jam are awesome.
(5)Jon T.
I have only eaten here once. It is always packed. Lot's of eggs Benedict dishes to choose from. Southern fare with a local twist.
(4)Jim R.
Crowded on Sunday morning at 9:00 A.M. but very worth the 20 minute wait. I had Eggs Sardou which were delicious and the service was good, the food came out fairly quickly and the price was reasonable. If there was one thing for improvement, the grits could have been a little thicker, like they do in the owner's home town of Kaplan in the heart of South Louisiana Cajun country. On Dec. 19, 2010 I returned for a second visit. arrived a little earlier on Sunday morning and was seated immediately. Ordered the Special which was Cider spice pork over cornbread, topped with two very lightly poached eggs and a nice hollandaise sauce. The two choices of grits or potatoes were the only decision to be made. The service was great, the food arrived extremely quickly on this occasion, and the grits were still somewhat thin, although very good. I related to the hostess that the grits in Kaplan would be somewhat thicker, and she appreciated the comment. Over all a very pleasant meal and definitely recommended. A few months ago, I had breakfast at the sister location in Denver, and the food and service there were very good also.
(5)Chelsea A.
Lucile's is always busy. It is a tiny restaurant. It has great food but you usually have to wait. I love their biscuits and gravy. You NEED to get the beignets. They are delicious!
(5)Darren F.
One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Cajun omelet was delicious, great coffee, huge homemade biscuits and great service. I wish I lived in Ft. Collins so I could eat here regularly.
(5)Annie K.
Love their eggs Jennifer half order with 1/2 grits and 1/2 potatoes delicious food great service and one of the best mochas in town. Do not miss this breakfast stop, just know that you will be waiting for a table on Saturdays and Sundays, get there early.
(5)Chris G.
I had the most beautiful girl in all of Ft Collins hollering out my name: "Chris! Party of three." Still counts. Just wanna thank Sophia, Christie, Anna, and the rest of the staff for being so awesome and putting up with our antics. The food was delicious, and service was impeccable. I had the biscuits n gravy, with red beans and grits. We split an order of the beignets. The beignets were good, and went well with all of the jelly/jam/marmalade's. The biscuits n gravy were really good. However; I would've preferred a tad more gravy to biscuit ratio though. The beans were good, and had strips of meat (I think beef) mixed in. The grits weren't my favorite. The main reason for Lucile's losing a star is that when my food came out, it wasn't that warm. Granted, I like my food piping hot. Even considering that, it was still rather cool. All in all, it was a good experience, and I would go back again.
(4)Christina G.
Ehhh... we got a table on the patio (with only about a 5-minute wait!) which was perfect on a sunny Sunday afternoon. And our waitress was really pleasant. Kicked things off with a plate of beignets -- not the best I've had and if you're on the fence, I'd say go without... or maybe try one of the dessert styles (served up with fruit and ice cream!). Then our biscuits came out. They are friggin' huge. And fluffy and buttery. Didn't know you could get biscuits this yum (or with so little portion control) outside of the South. They could have used a touch of cheddar in my very humble opinion. But this is :easily: overlooked if you know to ask for the side sauces they have -- pepper jelly, strawberry rhubarb jam, apple butter and so on. Easily my very favorite part of the meal. I ordered the spicy sausage omelet. Side options are grits and potatoes -- but if you want to try both, they'll do a 'combo' for you. Potatoes were greasy and lacked flavor. The grits -- incredibly watery! Of course, once you've had Crook's Corner style grits, you can't really go back... The omelet, alas, tasted uninspired and the entree made me nostalgic for the amazing bayou-style brunch I recently had with yelpers back in Durham. Now I don't want to hate on Lucile's because clearly they have a good thing going. So come here if you're in the mood for some basic brunching -- or just for some pretty amazing biscuits.

DELICIOUS! Can get really crowded, but it's definitely worth the wait. SO GOOD. i wish I could eat there everyday!
(5)Tre G.
I've been to New Orleans and Lucile's taste like the French Quarter. Beignets are wonderful! Chicory coffee is perfect!
(5)Abby S.
After going to this place twice for breakfast, I decided I had to rate it. The first time, we started off with beignets covered in powdered sugar. They were to die for- the dough was not too sweet, it was just right! Then, I ordered the oatmeal with streusel topping and fresh fruit. Such a pretty plate! On my last visit, we opted for the biscuits with all kinds of homemade jams and jellies. They were the best biscuits I think I've ever had. The blackened salmon with cajun potatoes was delicious as well. My dad isn't a fan of breakfast potatoes that aren't super crispy, but I thoroughly enjoyed them. Overall, the ambience is cozy and warm and the food is superb. I will be coming back soon.

If you find yourself up early on a weekend, you can do yourself no better a favor than to stroll over to Lucille's for a cup of chicory coffee or spiced tea. The wait gets kinda long after 9, but trust me, if you have the time, it is worth it. If you come for brunch, the portions are pretty huge- if you ask, a couple of the dishes (the scrambles) can be served in a half size- which is still more than enough for one, even with a few friends stealing nibbles.
(4)Maria F.
Boring and bland. Same recipes my creole mother used to fix us, but Lucille's dishes lack the ummph! Also, I love beignets, but hate sopapillas, and Lucille's has sopapillas, hard as a rock and as hollow as their knowledge of real LA food.
(1)Geneviève E.
The Eggs New Orleans is amazing. Get it with the jalapeno-cheddar grits. The homemade chai is fantastic. The fancy french toast, the biscuits, the jam, the bacon and the sausage. This doesn't even include the beignets. Get there early on weekends!
(5)Cheryl S.
I was very disappointed that lunch for 2 of us cost more than $37 because they charge 2.60 for a can of soda with no free refills, which added up quick. One of us even got the lunch special. The wait staff is not very attentive, as well as it being a very crowded seating area. The food is good, but I'm not sure worth the visit.
(2)Cathy B.
This is one of my favorite breakfast places in Fort Collins. Beignets, biscuits, homemade jam and chickory coffee. Wide selection of delicious breakfast plates. Honestly, it's an ordeal to choose breakfast every time we go. One important tip: if you're impatient about waiting for a table DO NOT go on the weekend. Stop by during the week so you can walk in without waiting outside in line.
(4)Dan P.
Fantastic cajun brunch! Well worth the 15 minute wait.
(5)Matt P.
Just adding to the list of great reviews. We went for breakfast and ordered the beignets to start with fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and a cafe au lait. If you've ever been to New Orleans, the beignets are slightly denser than Cafe Du Monde, but still delicious. We ordered Hank's eggs. After ordering, I regretted my choice because I thought it was something I could order anywhere. When the food finally came out, I was pleasantly surprised. It was a large portion with a cajun twist on regular sausage, potato, and eggs. They even make their own hot sauce, ketchup, and jams! I would highly recommend this place.

I kept seeing this breakfast eatery pop up in Yelp and have always been intrigued. Being from New England, I haven't tried much creole style food so I was a little hesitant when my girlfriend brought me here as a surprise one morning. I was wholly impressed with the food at this joint. I enjoyed a cheese omelet (with cheddar, muenster, and ricotta cheese) with a side of homefries and a amazing biscuit. The omelet was perfectly done with the right ratio of cheese to egg. The homefries were superb, a touch of spice and crispy edges. The star, for me, was the homemade buttermilk biscuit. Heres a tip - ask for a side of their country sausage gravy with it. You will not regret it. My GF and I also shared some wonderful beignets, dusted with heavy coating of powdered sugar. They were delicious, especially when coupled with their house made jam. The service was also exceptional. Every employee we interacted with had a huge smile on their face and were eager to assist. This actually bumped my rating from 4 star to 5. The reason I was going to rate it 4 star was because of the horrible seating! It was a fairly long wait for breakfast, and then we were squeezed in a tiny table with constant traffic of servers going by. My knee was run into at least three times and, since we were next to the bar area, people's rear ends were always in our faces. If you come here, ask for a seat or table away from the bar!!!!!!

Homemade rhubarb jam and catsup is the cream on top, for Luciles. I have always thought that breakfast is the easiest of the three meals to make, and yet this is a place we continue to return to when family is in town. My daughter's only complaint-they will not tell you how they make the catsup and jam-ha ha ha. Like I would expect them to. Thanks, Luciles!
(5)STEPHANIE L.
Long wait -- good food. Excellent service. My 2 negative points are: - plastic table clothes make it kind of grubby - when you don't eat eggs, you should be able substitute for 3 small pieces of fruit w/o an additional $1.20 charge. I could see if I was getting more, or beautiful fresh fruit. But not for average fruit :) Worth the wait- extremely large portions. It's nice they'll give you coffee while you wait.
(4)B R.
It's good food, fun place and great coffee. Real cotton napkins wonderful wait-staff. Get there early it's busy even weekdays because its amazing. Love the Hanks eggs.
(5)Bailey B.
Delicious. Simply delicious. Having the restaurant in a old, modified house is a real treat, too - so much to look at & take in. There will almost certainly be a wait... but it's well worth it! (Mmmmm, makes me hungry, just thinking about it)
(5)Chandra H.
I love Lucille's. It's my favorite place to meet my sisters or girlfriends for some girl talk. Although, I've been know to bring my husband too and he also enjoys it I love tasting their different creations and it's always fresh and cooked perfectly. I like that it's a quaint restaurant, not overwhelming or loud as many other larger establishments.
(5)Paul G.
Aw, man, this place is SO good! I love trying places with unique offerings, and Lucile's did not disappoint me one bit! I ordered Eggs Ponchartrain, and I loved every part of it. The trout was flaky, the potatoes were nicely seasoned (try the homemade ketchup), the grits had the right consistency, and the biscuits... oh, the biscuits. They have this strawberry rhubarb jam you have to try. I've got a few things in mind to try the next time I come here. I'm looking forward to it!
(5)Chrisene-Faye M.
What a cute restaurant! This is an older house converted into a restaurant! I read the reviews and was really excited to come here. It was Sunday and 4th of July week-end, so I figured it was going to be packed. When we parked, we saw a line out the door and the patio area packed. Thinking there would be a hefty wait, we decided to try anyways. Luckily, they seated us right away and on the patio area!! Service was fast! We started with beignets and biscuits with jam. This was my first time trying a beignets, and it was delicious! I was good with one. Not sure if typical beignets come loaded with a pound of powdered sugar? The biscuits were HUGE! You have your choice of strawberry tart jam, blueberry jam, and/or apple butter jam. All 3 were good! I had to save room for my real breakfast, so I couldn't eat the whole biscuit. I ordered the cajun breakfast. Very hearty meal! The cajun breakfast includes 2 poached eggs with hollandaise sauce, pinto beans, grits, and home fries. I highly recommend this. This is not your typical bacon and egg breakfast for sure! Cute homey cozy atmosphere and fast and friendly staff. I recommend this place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
(5)Paige G.
I went to this place with a group of friends while we were having a day out in our pajamas. The cozy atmosphere definitely made for a few stares but then again, we were in our pajamas and onesies. It also must be a well known place in the area for breakfast/brunch/lunch because my friends roommate was taking his girlfriend and his gf's parents there the same morning. We were sitting close to each other but just did a quick hello because remember, we were in pajamas. HAHA. The wait wasn't long, especially for 5 people, I think it took about 10-15 minutes and we just waited outside on the porch. Honestly, if you wait inside, you're cramping up the space. Unless it's raining, wait outside...they will come and get you when your table is ready. We, of course, started off with the beignets, which comes with a Tony Montana load of powdered sugar on top. Definitely make sure you ask for the different types of jam to put on them. SO GOOD!! I've never had beignets before, but these were some tasty treats! After that I kept with the sweet tooth and had the New Orleans Praline Waffle. It was definitely good, took awhile to get syrup, but definitely tasty. Maybe I should have balanced out the sweet beignets with a savory main breakfast/brunch dish. Oh well...it was still good, and I still took it home to finish later. All of the guys at the table got Hank's Eggs, which was super delicious. I may or may not have eaten my friend's leftovers out of the fridge later that night. Don't tell anyone. Next time I'm in Fort Collins, I'm sure we will hit up this spot again.
(4)Mary M.
Smells amazing, like Cajun country. Tables of empty plates as customers went to the counter to pay their bill. Not one complaint overheard. I only had time to put in a to-go order for beignets & it came out fresh & piping hot in a few minutes. You get 4 per order but each one is real big & coated in powdered sugar as they should be. Very small, cozy setting inside an old house. No private parking so be watchful for open spaces on the street. Can't wait to explore the menu further. Taste the beignets ya'll!
(5)Jeff S.
Best breakfast in town. The eggs Ponchatrain (trout and eggs) is amazing. From the beignets and chicory coffee to the homemade biscuits and jam, you cannot go wrong with this place. It's in a cool old house that has been converted into a restaurant which makes for close quarters, but definite charm.
(5)Chris C.
My favorite breakfast spot in Fort Collins, bar-none! Snooze A.M. Eatery doesn't even hold a candle. Don't be fooled!
(5)Kim P.
To start off on a positive note the flavors are very very good. The Beignets are very good and very very very big! The entrees are very big you should come with a big appetite or split the dish. Our waitress was very polite however I don't recall her name. The cons...went on Saturday around 10 am waited 45 minutes to get a table. Waited another 50 minutes to get our food. I'm waiting on our check right now and a number of tables are mentioning to the waitress that's it's too warm. I ordered Hanks eggs, again flavor is good, however the peppers and onions are so overlooked you wouldn't know they are in there unless you see them. I'd rename it Hanks potatoes because theses significantly more potatoes than eggs.
(3)Carrie G.
Solid breakfast spot, but I liked Snooze better. The experience and food was just as good at both spots, but I'm not the biggest fan of Cajun food- I liked the creativity of Snooze's extensive food and drink menu better. Anyways, here, the beermosa was good, Bloody Mary proper, and food delish. The service was on point- very friendly and there when you needed it. I had the trout with potatoes and poached eggs. Yum, yum, yum!!! Decadent, esp. with the sauce. I hardly ever eat trout and was pleased with the taste and texture. Nice big chunk of fish, well seasoned and cooked to perfection, no bones :) the potatoes were some of the best hash browns (what is in that orange seasoning that makes it so good?!). The poached eggs were a bit on the runny side, but the yolk blended really well with everything else on my plate. Bonus points for the huge chunk of biscuit! I had a huge portion of leftovers. Extra points for the homemade condiments. They make their own ketchup, rhubarb strawberry preserves and hot sauce. The hot sauce was especially on fleek. If you like Cajun food, this is your spot! Our server was really great here, and had a good sense of humor that we enjoyed.
(4)Brody G.
Great place!! Small, quaint and eclectic...this place blends good classic breakfast fare and Cajun. I recommend the Farmer, but make sure you share it with about 3 other people. It's huge!! The biscuits are awesome and the homemade jams, ketchup and hot sauce are delicious!! The reputation here is well deserved.
(4)Jimmy F.
Overrated. Went in hungry and left disappointed. We got there at a busy time and were seated within 30 minutes but the food took over an hour after that to get to us. I got the special enchiladas and it came out as a big sloppy mess with a side of beans. Some of the sausage in the middle was cold. I don't really understand how that happens since it should stay warmest in the center. I also got to try a bite of the eggs pontchetrain and it was kind of okay. It was really salty though. The beans that came as a side and the beignets were awesome so that got them an extra star.
(2)Abigail G.
they have the best biscuits and the best homemade jams! on top of that, their breakfast is superb.
(5)Nick J.
Service stinks. This was my first time eating here and didn't even get to try the food.
(1)J W.
Hands down! the best place for breakfast in Old Town. The trout and eggs is my personal favorite, but just about everything on the menu is superb. The massive biscuits and apple butter just melt in the mouth. The other bonus is the super lovely waitstaff who all seem to share similar appealing characteristics related to the "lady lumps" ;) Always nice on a hung over Saturday breakfast.
(5)Bill H.
We have been here numerous times over the past 10 years. We always enjoyed the Creole food and cozy feel. This visit was a terrible disapointment. After a 45 minute wait vs. the 30 minute estimate we were seated at a terrible table wedged in the walkway. No menus for 20 more minutes. We were finally greeted with "are you ready to order"? We settled for just ordering biscuits. 30 minutes later 2 buscuits arrived. In summary, bad service, cold food. They seem to be a victim of their own success. We will never go back.
(1)Rochelle D.
I love going to Lucile's, it is my go-to for brunch when I'm in town and meeting friends. But it is best if you get there early, as it gets super crowded. We almost always have terrific service, and the food is awesome. Large portions, I usually end up taking something home. I've tried many things on the menu and it always tastes fresh and well prepared. I love the coffee. And do yourself a favor and make sure you get the beignets! Delish.
(5)Kristin M.
While I don't think they completely live up to the hype and I'm not ready to say they are the best breakfast in town, I will say that with good, freshly home-made food in a unique locally owned joint, it's a place that Fort Collins is lucky to have. We need this kind of variety here in town.
(3)Raygina K.
I love going to Lucile's. The food and service are excellent.
(4)Kirsten W.
Be ready to walk directly into the dining area, and for goodness sake, don't keep the door open and let all the cold air in! (And watch out for the cranky old man sitting near the door, ready to inform you of your mistake). I had no idea how breakfast could be interpreted "Cajun-style" til we made a visit to Lucile's. Crazy interesting menu options, gigantic biscuits, plenty of high-quality young'in books to keep you occupied while waiting, unmarked jars of delicious-looking preserves, and super friendly staff. Go ahead. Dig in.
(4)Ashley E.
We FINALLY made it here, after trying a couple times and always hitting crazy lines. Went on a Tuesday morning, and it was fantastic. Beignets were good...should have gone with the half order, since there were just the two of us, but oh well. Ordered the Eggs Benedict with grits, and I was a happy camper. The Spice Tea (iced!) was fabulous, and our server was courteous and attentive. I left completely stuffed and can't wait for my parents to come visit so they can partake in the awesomeness.
(4)Thistle f.
The first time I ate here, I was in heaven! But the last 6 times, it was expensive, claustrophobic and the food just wasn't doing it for me. Sigh, very sad, I had high hopes for Lucile's but it just keeps on not being that good. I think I'm ready to move on and leave this restaurant behind.
(2)Alexandra R.
The best breakfast in town.
(4)David K.
Awesome breakfast as everyone else has said, I will definitely be going back. Get there early though cause it's a busy place
(5)Nick S.
the cinnamon tea is off the hook. it tastes like little cinnamon bears climbed a latter into the cup of tea and gave their lives for the flavors i crave. you can buy this tea and take it home, if you brew it yourself, make it in a coffee maker, it works better. Also the biscuits with strawberry homemade rhubarb jam is great. If you are not a big eater you can do half orders. also like the pain perdu and freshly squeezed oj.
(4)Jenn M.
Excellent food and hot staff! I don't think they hire unattractive people. In addition to hot, they are also friendly and fun. Hank's Eggs is excellent as is Eggs Jennifer and the french toast (which is actually called Pain Perdu) is really worth trying. I'm not the type of person to order french toast or pancakes out at restaurants, but my friend Brit is the manager there and she recommended the french toast, so I did it. No regrets at all; the syrup that they serve with is the best tasting stuff ever and then they give you fresh fruit and you can dip the fresh fruit in the syrup... mmmmm!!! Also, the beignets are excellent; the coffee is really really good and coffee is important to me. It's strong and it tastes darn good. A little tip that I learned pretty quickly. The portions are huge and they give you a giant biscuit with practically every order. You can order half orders of almost everything (the eggs Jennifer and all the other poached egg dishes, Hank's eggs, beignets, etc.). It's really the way to go and I recommend taking your biscuit home with you; they heat up well and you won't have room for all you order.
(5)Tom W.
Good breakfast. Mostly breakfast, few other items. All good.
(4)Robert R.
Best breakfast in Ft Collins. An amazing wait staff serving absolutely fresh and special breakfast and lunch dishes with a Cajun twist. Fresh squeezed OJ and chicory coffee are not to be missed. All this and a homey downton cottage make this a great experience.
(5)Kel R.
Oh, do I miss Lucile's! When are you all going to open a restaurant in California? The breakfast dish with spinach and gulf shrimp served Benedict style is outrageously delicious. I salivate just looking at the website. Try a fresh biscuit with strawberry preserves while you sip their exquisite coffee. Go on, it won't spoil your appetite. Because, trust me, when your meal arrives you will find space.
(5)Christine L.
Great breakfast place with nice outdoor seating. You get the whole package here: cozy, warm atmosphere, interesting menu options, and good service. The beignets of course are great. The servings for the entrees are huge, as well as the biscuits. I hardly ever finish the Farmer's Eggs, and I'm known as an eater.
(4)lee s.
This place is awesome. Hands down the best restaurant I have been to in Fort Collins. We always order the special of the day and have never been disappointed. Go on weekdays to avoid the crowds.
(5)Alexa K.
Don't waste your money, this place was awful. I really don't understand all the decent reviews. I could have had a better meal at McDonald's for a 1/4 of the price!
(1)Belinda L.
absolute deliciousness. beignets and the strawberry jam is delicious! everytime ive been there there has always been a wait, but trust me its worth it. service is friendly, not always the quickest, but definitely friendly. so make sure you are not in a rush when you are going there. its like having breakfast at a friends cozy house.
(4)Emily M.
GREAT Bloody Mary's (shrimp, okra, just the right spice!) and other breakfast drinks. Yummy biscuits and homemade jams (even homemade ketchup). Also, great spiced tea. Breakfast is filling and delicious. Always well worth the wait for a table.
(5)Marie E.
Love this place. Food is yum. Service is friendly. My kids are always treated really well here.
(5)Jeromey G.
While famous for their breakfast, Lucille's has a fantastic lunch! In addition to their menu that includes gumbo and various sandwiches (my favorite is the Cajun Turkey Club), they have great daily specials - Tuesdays are best with Chicken Reau-be-I'll never spell it correctly - but try it out! Also they have an amazing Orange Spice iced tea! During warmer weather, it's great to sit in their outdoor patio, as restaurant feels a bit cramped (It's pretty much an old house). They also close up shop at 2pm, so no late lunches here.
(4)M G.
I've been here maybe 5 or 6 times, have NEVER had to wait for a table, and always found consistently delicious, unique food with a great, homey atmosphere and friendly service. In my opinion, the best breakfast place in town (yes, that includes the Silver Grille Cafe!). How often do you find a restaurant that still serves homemade jam, hot sauce and ketchup? The strawberry jam alone is enough of a reason to come! If the prices scare you, a cup of chicory coffee and a biscuit and jam is still worth the trip. A wonderful asset to Old Town Ft Collins - if we get the chance, we always bring visitors here. Highly recommended!
(5)Tracey Lee D.
Lucile's is my favorite place for breakfast in Fort Collins. I have very fond memories of it from my college days, and I am pleased to say that it still holds up to those memories after all these years. Lucile's a cool little restaurant that is located in a house that was redone, painted pale yellow and turned into fantastic New Orleans style yummy factory. There are locations in Boulder, Longmont, Denver and Steamboat, as well, and they all have gained tons of Best Breakfast awards, BECAUSE THE FOOD IS SO DAMN GOOD!! I started off with a glass of OJ (hand-squeezed by your server) and then got the Hank's Eggs, as usual. Potatoes, onions, peppers, cheddar cheese and three eggs, scrambled together and topped with avocado and tomato. Served with a buttermilk biscuit. It's a pile of yummy goodness. The biscuits are amazing and about the size of your head, so take my advice, try a small sample if you must, but save it for later, because the rest of the food is going to be requiring your full and undivided attention (and the biscuits are so good warmed up later). Catherine got Eggs Jennifer (English muffin, spinach, tomato, avocado, poached eggs, and with grits or potatoes) and said it was totally great, too. The ambiance is great. The staff is totally friendly and efficient. The food is outstanding. You really must try Lucile's if you find yourself in the general vicinity of one! You will be very glad that you did!

bah so good. after checking out the menu online i was a little intimidated, because i couldn't see myself getting up on a saturday morning to enjoy kind of obscure breakfast choices (by obscure, i mean not my typical bowl of special k, i'm kind of low key). so anyways, we got there at about 10:30, had to wait about ten minutes sitting on a cold rock, and then were seated in a noisy little corner. i ordered coffee, which was very, very good, and my boyfriend got the fresh squeezed orange juice, which was even better. he ordered the creole omelet, which looked ridiculous, and being my picky eater self, i ordered the cheese omelet, which was anything but boring. muenster and ricotta inside of a lot of fluffy eggs, reeeeally good potatoes, and let's just talk about the biscuit. huge! and perfect!!! and the strawberry rhubard jam was perfect also! the portions, however, are HUGE so i only ended up having about half of everything, which means i just get to avoid another bowl of cereal this morning. slash i might have a bowl of cereal with it, because i'm a creature of habit. anyways, totally recommended.
(5)Samantha M.
Friends had been telling me i needed to get here - they serve creole style food and serve breakfast all day which is a bonus. their menu is very diverse with many options to satisfy any desire/picky eater if you have one. be sure to get here on the weekday though when you can make a reservation and the inside is not extremely cool, eventhough they said they had air conditioning. the one thing i wasnt prepared for was the slow service - worth the wait? not entirely sure. we got there at 1230 and werent finished eating till 130. we started off with their beignets - new orleans style fried doughnuts - basically like a funnel cake, and they were good. good price for the size. i got the eggs new orleans - fried eggplant with poached eggs - personally the eggplant was very thin and little - a dissappointment, but the pached eggs were very good. i also got a side of sauteed spinach - it cost $3.15 which was absurd for the small amout they gave me. however, their potatoes were amaizng - i dont eat potatoes but i would go back for these cause the seasoning was killer! it was served with a creole sauce (basically a tomato sauce) that complimented the eggpalnt well. my friend got the zydeco salad - which she said she liked, and we got free cornbread which was to die for. somewhat of a dissappointment was their famous biscuits - yeah the first 2 bites were good, but after that not so much. i recommedn eating the beignets with the blueberry sauce on the table and skipping their strawberry rhubard jam
(3)Chard M.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a New Orlean's style brunch joint in Ft. Collins. Especially one that delivers such great dishes! We got the beignets to start...hmmm, and some super huge and ultra delicious homemade biscuits. I wish I'd had more room in my stomach to fit in my french toast with buttery maple syrup but I couldn't. i'll be back for a round 2 for sure!
(4)Beth-Anne H.
Enjoyed our breakfast experience at Lucille's. With that said it is not for small children as there was little they would eat. We ordered chocolate milk and it came with cinnamon in it and they didn't like it. That's why only 3 stars. Beignets were wonderful and the biscuits to die for. Many yummy jams to put on. Waitress was very patient with our group.
(3)Katy M.
Incredible, worth every second of the wait to get in. The staff is so friendly, and the food is delicious
(5)Stacey C.
You need to go here. Look, I know you're probably checking the reviews for other breakfast/brunch places in the area, trying to decide where to go, skimming all of these reviews for the negative ones to try to pick these places apart. Let me save you the trouble: You need to go here. Trust me on this. Staff? Amazing and friendly. Atmosphere? Casual, quaint and homey. FOOOOOOD? Out-of-this-fucking-world! The beignets comes swimming in a powdered sugar avalanche...hot and fresh and delicious. The pecan praline waffle is killer (even better with their amazing praline syrup!) I recently got their Friday special, andouille sausage, shrimp and grits with cornbread. It was all delicious. And the biscuits...dear God, the biscuits. Legitimately the size of your face and fluffy delicious, especially with the homemade strawberry jam (Tip: you can buy the jam and the biscuit mix at the hostess stand!) Oh, and their coffee is fantastic. Stop skimming reviews, and just go. It will be well worth the wait.
(5)Nanette C.
Sensational. If you love GREAT food, with impeccable service, Lucile's needs to be on your list. The chicory coffee and beignets taste just as great as Cafe Du Monde, in Louisiana. Unless you arrive before the opening bell, plan on sitting a spell, waiting your turn to get in. Trust me though, it's worth the wait! How about fresh Mountain Trout, eggs and breakfast potatoes? No? Ok, Cajun salmon, eggs and breakfast potatoes. Don't forget the buttermilk biscuit that comes with the meal and is the size of a puppy! I've ended up taking the biscuit home both times, so I can't tell you how good it is fresh from the oven, but I can tell you how stupendous it is with a heaping serving of their red beans poured on top! Your coffee cup and table will be full with some of the best Cajun food and coffee I've had outside of New Orleans. I've been in Colorado since November, and with only Sundays off, I'm rather picky on how I will spend my day. I've eaten here twice now, and I will go back many more times before I leave this state, there are too many items that I want to try!
(5)Chynna W.
This place had excellent food and wonderful service. I had the eggplant eggs dish and it was even better than I had expected. The eggplant was perfectly crispy and the hollandaise melted in my mouth. My friend had a Cajun omelette and she loved it. They also gave us 2 giant fresh baked biscuits. We started begniets (sp) and they were perfect.
(5)Carlos P.
This place rocks! The food was just amazing and tasty. Even the orange juice was freshly squeezed. I would recommend this place 100%.
(5)Christy S.
So grateful a local introduced me to this gem. The food is amazing. Hands down some of the best homemade food around...and let's be honest, finding true creole food is not very common. The reasonable prices, friendly staff, and relaxing atmosphere are icing on the cake. A must go when in the Fort Collins area.
(5)P K.
The beignets with chicory coffee, excellent. Other than the Farmers Eggs, which comes out like a big pile of hash, the breakfast has been good. Cool place but does get very crowded.
(5)Eme S.
The "Eggs New Orleans" literally changed my life. The creole sauce is this amazingly flavorful tomato sauce that holds so much complexity that it's almost unreal. The eggplant is breaded and fried in a way that leaves it soft yet crispy and not greasy. The hollandaise sauce is light and creamy. The eggs were poached perfectly. Lucile's biscuits are HUGE, fluffy and come to the table steaming hot, in a way that makes you want to crawl in and curl up in it. Their popcorn shrimp are succulent and crispy. The breading is flavorful and I could eat them alone with no sauce although the green chile ranch is mouthwatering. You cannot go wrong with the Cajun Mary or a fresh squeezed mimosa. They serve the juice on the side so you can take your juice to champ ratio into your own hands. The staff is a dream and the atmosphere is so comforting. GO HERE! GO NOW!
(5)Chris W.
There are not enough good things I can say about this place. I have been for lunch and breakfast and enjoyed everything. I would recommend farmers eggs or the creole omelette. This place is everything I like about smaller local joints. I think there are only a couple of these around but it would be hard to keep finding small old homes that add to the ambiance. It's tight in this place so if you don't like it cozy go to another place. Also don't try and waltz in on a Saturday morning unless you have some time to kill because it will be packed

Down home Louisiana breakfast. Housemaid jellies and Beignets accompany a large breakfast menu. Though there is normally a wait, it's well worth the cramped little house to enjoy the food.
(4)Victoria C.
I'd seen Lucile's in denver and Boulder and never wanted to wait in line for it. One day, relaxing and not on a time crunch in Fort Collins, I finally went to Lucile's (still a wait). The biscuits are huge and buttery. Everything else bay was breakfast-y or brunch-y was extremely bland. Sadness. But now I've tried it. Crossed off the list.
(3)Caitlyn C.
Quaint and authentic, I really enjoyed their atmosphere. They're small, and when I went, it was packed! Though the wait was short. The food was amazing. I had the chicken roboshow (had to phonetically spell that one) which was a Tuesday special. Also ha the beignets and the house spice tea (no sugar needed). The beignets had like a pound of powdered sugar on them and were amazing. I'd go here again in a heartbeat.
(5)Rebecca B.
Best biscuits ever!! The portions were huge and the food was delicious. There was something for everyone here. The only complaint is it's crowded. Just not much elbow room. But I'm willing to sacrifice for that delicious meal!!
(5)Steve M.
This little joint is a converted house filled with college kids....mostly. I can't speak for the rest of the menu but the Crawfish Étouffée was good but a bit bland. It wasn't until I added some of the spice that was at the table that it actually started to taste of anything. The presentation however it was spectacular. good service good food good beer and an all-around good effort.
(3)Rachel M.
This place is always busy. We arrived at 8:01 and the place was already half full (indoor and outdoor). Huge portions, fantastic Cajun flavors, southern food as authentic as you can get in Colorado. Grits and homemade jams were stand-outs! Expect to wait at least 30-minutes if you don't show up right when they open. And yes, they are worth the wait even in a faster state.
(4)Tim S.
Amazing breakfast! Would I go back? Yes!!! Everyday if I could. Parking is tight but we were lucky and found a spot right in front. We asked about the begnets for breakfast, our sever Roni indicated "of course, they are an appetizer". They were Awesome! We also got Hanks eggs and Eggs Ponchatrain, eggs over trout with grits and homemade hotsauce. Wow. Very, very good. Hanks eggs were scrambled with cheese, onions and potatoes. Both came with a monster sized bisquit. We love this place. I can't wait to come here again.

I know, I know. I'll be the ONE bad review in a sea of stars, but my experience was sub par and I don't see any reason to hide that. I had high hopes for Lucile's, I mean look at the reviews! It's nestled in Old Town, in a cute little (very little) old house. My ex-server self saw it as a nightmare to navigate, as there are just too many tables squeezed into a very tiny place. When we arrived, the host informed us that it would be a bit longer wait because we had "that thing" (pointed to baby in car seat). We only waited about 10 minutes, so no hard feelings there. When I sat down, there was instantly an arctic breeze blowing directly over top of me! It appears there is an air-con vent on the ceiling above this table, and they were running the frigid setting that day. The server came over and said, "oh man you got THIS table", so OBVIOUSLY they know of this problem. I'm not one to complain (touché), so I politely declined an offer to wait another 10 minutes for a different table. The food was decent, nothing spectacular. I was expecting greatness on a plate, as the Cajun theme is so unique. And to top it off, it turned ice cold and rock hard within minutes due to the cold air. Bad experience. Probably won't go back. Worth a try, if you don't get seated at that table and don't have a baby. Or want spectacular food.

Stopped in today at what has become a mainstay eatery for me, especially for breakfast. Today though I came with family and we ordered the special of the day, Chicken Robicheaux, a delicious pairing of breast chicken over cream sauce with mashed potatoes and collard greens. I chose red beans and rice instead of the greens and it was great as usual. Service was fast even though busy, as we were seated within 5 mins of arrival, and drinks and food arrived pretty quickly. I give this visit a top rating as good value and great food.

This is one of the best breakfast joints in town as they offer a taste of the South in their Louisiana cooking! Everything I have had here thus far has been amazing, from the HUGE Biscuit and Gravy (which comes with some amazing grits!), to their cajun omelet! It is all fantastic! So the place is very cute as it used to be a house that is now a restaurant! It is a little bit tight in there but it is still spacious enough where you do not have to hear your neighbors conversation. The staff is very friendly, though there is a fairly obvious division of labor with men in the kitchen and women up front (which is a kind of funny shift in some ways, especially since it is a southern restaurant, but I digress)... The place is a little pricy, but it is definitely worth it as the portions are large and super flavorful! Plus get the OJ, it is fresh squeezed, you can definitely tell, as it is the best OJ I think I have ever had! Anyways, this place is a must for breakfast spots!!!
(5)Jordan C.
Always busy! ALWAYS! But worth it! Start yourself off with some beignets (fried dough with powdered sugar- oooo yeah!) and some hot spiced tea. I'm a huge fan of the Eggs Jennifer, which is veggie benedict. I get this with the grits, because welp! I'm at a cajun place! The food is never disappointing no matter what you get.
(4)Emilie B.
Literally the best breakfast in Fort Collins. Don't miss this place. Try to get here earlier though. If not, you'll be waiting for hours!
(5)Linda M.
Lucile's is a cute breakfast spot. Our best meal during our short stay in Fort Collins. Fluffy, warm beignets shared among the table delivered a whopping helping of powdered sugar. The pain perdue (French toast) was accompanied by a very tasty cinnamon syrup. Chickory coffee was on the mild side for chickory...but good. We were a big group of 8 and able to make a reservation on a weekday morning. Good thing, cause the place is small and popular.
(4)Lauren S.
One of the best breakfast atmosphere's I've ever encountered... Fell in love with the place the minute I walked in! Felt so sweet and old-timey and they really do the French/Cajun theme great! YOU HAVE TO GET THE BEIGENTS. Yes, HAVE to. They are an option for a breakfast starter and I about died when I tried one (with strawberry jelly). They come with so much powdered sugar, I swear my blood sugar level rose just looking at them. After the delicious (and traditional) starter, I had the french toast. It came with sausage, an egg, and fruit for quite the reasonable price considering the monstrous amount of food I had on my plate! The french toast was divine, but what surprised me even more was the syrup... I don't even know what it was but I would have eaten it plain. I should have asked our waitress because it was that good. The egg and sausage were great as well. I walked feeling full and still haven't eaten since!! Next time I go to Fort Collins, I will most definitely be eating at Lucile's!! And you need to, too!!
(5)Kristi M.
Hands down, one of my favorite breakfast spots in town. With that said, I apparently share that sentiment with many others as there is almost always a wait. In my opinion, the wait is worth it for authentic southern grub. There's something on the menu for every type of pallet. Choose from sweet items such as beignets or French toast, to hearty items such as hanks eggs (potatoes, veggies, eggs, and a touch of heaven, I'm sure). No matter what you choose, you will walk away with an extremely full stomach and a big fat grin on your face. Note: some items can be ordered as a half order. This is something I highly recommend unless you like to take home leftovers. Enjoy!
(5)Clancey L.
The food at Lucile's never disappoints. And the portions are big! The biscuits are always warm and they are huge! Plan on standing in line to be seated. It is worth the wait! This is a very busy place and you may find yourself seated a bit closer to another party than you are comfortable with, but, forget that and enjoy the food. The menu is geared toward New Orleans and you will find great choices. The food can be spicy, ask your server before ordering if you are unsure. Many rave about the coffee and I love the spice tea. And beignets! If you have not tried them, do! This Lucile's has a full bar. This house on the corner is one place not to miss!
(5)Katharine C.
YUM YUM YUM. Lucile's never disappoints. The restaurant is in an adorable old, remolded home in Old Town and is constantly crowded - with good reason. The food is fantastic! The beignets are delicious and big, and 4 is enough to share with the table. The biscuits are seriously awesome, and the jams offered are all perfect. The apple butter is my favorite! I'm not a huge Bloody Mary fan, but everyone I go with loves their drinks as well. I personally love the Hank's Eggs plate, but the omelets are also great. This place just has an awesome vibe, and they really do serve true, authentic Creole food. I am always impressed by Lucile's and love going for Sunday brunch!
(4)Amanda I.
Big breakfast for a pretty good price. I have had the beignets before, and didn't think they were as good after eating some from New Orleans. However, the buttermilk biscuits here really are amazing, and huge! That could be a breakfast in itself for me. I also ordered Hank's eggs, which served as a couple meals when I took them home as leftovers since I was so full. Cute location, but the wait is somewhat long (we waited about 25 min) and while the biscuits were good, I could probably find an egg/potato dish like that at other places. Still not a bad place for Fort Collins brunch.
(4)Emlchach C.
A quirky southern-style breakfast/brunch/lunch restaurant situated on the edge of Old Town Fort Collins. The beignets were a delicious and a definite highlight of my meal. They also serve lattes and other coffee treats that you can bring outside while you wait, which you will do because they are packed on the weekends and do not take reservations.
(4)Addison B.
Food was great, wait time was not, I reeeeally didn't care for out table as it was scrunched between a coat rack and a mantleppace, then directly adjacent to a wall on one side and the bar on the other, basically people were running into us the whole time. The food has masive portions and is really solid, so it basically makes up for the negatives. Try the Hank's Eggs with Lucile's homemade ketchup.
(5)James D.
Lucile's was great. I can't complain about the food nor the service. It was spot on. I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a unique dining atmosphere. It's cozy and delicious!
(5)Blake G.
Recent Breakfast Visit: Let's talk turkey here, or should we talk beignets? You need to come here for breakfast. Period. Stop what you're doing and bike over. The chai is wonderful, not too cinnamon laden or milky. We had the crab cake Benedict special. Crab tasted incredibly fresh, the side of potatoes was perfectly seasoned. Service was spot on, timely, friendly, helpful. Oh, and if you haven't heard, get the beignets. They're better than the ones I had in DisneyWorld, and that place is magical.
(5)Emily C.
I can't say enough about this place. One of my favorite places for brunch. Food is amazing. Great spiced tea as well. The little house the restaurant is in makes you feel so at home. Love it.
(5)James T.
Food = 5+ Price = 5 Experience = 5++ Too good... the place was crowded on a Monday @ 10am. Still, the best service I've experienced anywhere. Alex was a total pro. The biscuit was gigantic... the food was too too good. Did I say too? It's so nice to find a place like this!
(5)Mildred R.
One word.. Beignets!! I've been coming out to FoCo frequently the last couple months for work and my co-workers always told me about Lucile's. Soo happy that I was finally able to enjoy this cute little restaurant and their yummy food! I started off with the Beignets (don't judge me for eating my dessert first). These were hot out of the kitchen sprinkled with so much powdered sugar, you would have thought it snowed! This was then followed by their Popcorn Shrimp Salad. Wow, the shrimp was fried to perfection! It comes with a chile blue cheese dressing, but I'm not a huge fan of blue cheese so I substituted for their red bell pepper dressing. That was amazingly good! Who would have thought to put red bell peppers in dressing? Lucile's that's who! All in all, the service was great and food was equally great! I can't wait to come back and try their breakfast. Hmm.. perhaps I'll go tomorrow :)
(4)N P.
Fast delicious food! I got the Cajun breakfast, it was very good. The biscuits are fluffy and buttery, by far the best restaurant biscuits I've ever had, just like homemade. The breakfast entrée's are very unique. If you are looking for something different this is definitely the place!!
(5)Cyndi J.
Lucile's is tucked into a charming old house, quite cramped and busy, even though we were there just shortly after opening. We had about a 20 minute wait for a table of 4. The staff are friendly. I'm not sure how friendly I'd be if I had to squeeze by waiting patrons to serve food to people sitting at tables scattered throughout the floor. The food itself is good, Cajun breakfast fare. I had a mimosa with freshly squeezed grapefruit juice - the best way to start a Sunday! My friend and I had the biscuits and gravy with potatoes and red beans. The biscuit was really good, more cake-y than flaky, but great texture and flavor. The homemade jam is also worth a mention. The gravy was good, not outstanding, but good. The potatoes had a different flavor that was quite good. Our husbands had omelets, which one commented there was so much cheese, it was hard to taste the eggs. This is a unique place for breakfast/brunch, but it is very crowded and not a good place to linger and talk.
(4)Dawn F.
Very good! But not open till 8 am on Saturday, really?!?! We are normally done by 8am. Plus it was kind of chaotic when they opened, as there was a long line formed. everybody was seated and ordering at once! Their gravy was excellent!
(4)J.R. W.
I love this place! A rare gem in Colorado where you can actually get grits, beignets, and other southern delicacies! The jams are tasty, but the portion sizes DO NOT represent the south well but being as how Colorado is one of the healthiest States I can understand that. What I did not love, was the service. My friend requested that wet be sat outside. (One of rise people that says they love the outdoors, but also complains about it lol) Well wet sat for a good 10 minutes while people around us received service, without us getting so much as a "Can I get you something to drink? ". After waiting to see if they would rectify this I got up and went inside to inquire into if we would be served or not. The woman I some to add very helpful and responded "you haven't been helped yet?! I'm so sorry about that, let me get someone." Things got better after that but still... not a great showing in the service category. Food was great though.
(3)Samuel D.
Any wait time is absolutely worth it. The servers are friendly and the setting is great, it is in a classical Old Town looking house/building. They bring complimentary biscuits that are cooked perfectly to prep for your meal. Entrees are not only huge in portions, but they are affordable. One of the best local hotspots in FOCO.
(5)Brian S.
No... words... to... describe. They should have sent a poet. This small and unassuming breakfast joint just a few blocks from the CSU campus is doing everything right, from the decor, atmosphere, service, order accuracy, accomodations and especially the quality of food. Do yourself a favor and get the side of spicy sausage - it'll change your day I promise. The banana pancakes with their homemade syrup is off the charts. They grind up pecan or pine nuts and soak them in a maple syrup and what you get is an eye-opening surprise of wonderfulness. It's not the biggest place in the world, so expect a wait if you're coming on a weekend or holiday. Definitely recommended!
(5)Vince B.
Fast, friendly, but most importantly, food was amazing. My praline batter waffles were flaky and sweet, while still tasting light and not overly syrupy. The outsides had a pleasant crisp and a soft inside. The biscuits were buttery and light while still being filling enough, but not too much so. Worth the half hour we had to wait, about 11am on Saturday
(5)Whitney D.
Lucile's is my new go to breakfast place! I absolutely LOVE this place. I went there for the first time today and already my mind is made up. Sorry old favorite breakfast places. Lucile's has my heart now. I ordered the Carlin County and substituted potatoes for the grits. The potatoes were AMAZING! So flavorful and cooked perfectly! The biscuit was huge and the gravy-delicious! Even the red beans were good and I usually don't like red beans. My boyfriend and I shared some beignets that were really tasty. The service is really friendly and quick! Its a tight squeeze which I didn't mind because it felt homey and comfortable. Definitely going back (hopefully tomorrow!)
(5)Pete D.
Have visited Colorado three times and have been here on each trip! There has always been a wait to get in, but it has always been worth the wait! Great food and atmosphere. Service has always been great as well. I have had both breakfast and lunch here and have not been disappointed.
(5)Ines S.
Very good food there! They are never disappointed me. Although there's always a long line to wait and we usually get up early to go there, it is really worthy!!!
(5)Renee H.
Came here on a recommendation from a friend. It beat all expectations. We started with the beignets because we had to and they were awesome. Almost like being in New Orleans. I had a creole omelette that has fantastic flavors. My mom had the daily special, shrimp and grits. The atmosphere and service was perfect. I highly recommend and would come back.
(5)Michele L.
SO GOOD! Everything about this place made me happy. The good was delicious. We got an order on beignets. They were scrumptious but just a tad "doughy". I'm not sure if that is how they are supposed to taste because it was my first but still good non the less. I also had the eggs Benedict. I think it's called the Jennifer. I added their Louisiana hot sausage. So yummy! To top it off, the atmosphere and staff were great too! Be aware the wait can be long but it's definitely worth it!
(5)Kate E.
I love Lucille's! Their breakfast cocktails, their biscuits, the hollandaise...I could go on! Everyone should eat at Lucille's at some point! It can be super crowded in there at times, so go during the week!
(4)Hans G.
Everything that makes me happy in a meal! The food is amazing, the service is attentive and friendly, and the place is clean. Everyone in my party walked out with only good things to say about their food, which is rare. This is my first 5-star rating.
(5)Cheyenne M.
Lucile's is that place that, when you tell your friends that you ate there over the weekend, everybody collectively sighs and says they haven't been in a while and they need to go back. It's the perfect restaurant if you want a slow weekend morning. The wait is very long if you get there during peak hours, but it's definitely worth it. A lot of other reviews say that you have to order the beignets, but that's because they're really good. You have to have the beignets. But maybe don't go to Lucile's with someone that you just started dating...after you order the beignets you're going to get powdered sugar all over your face and dress and probably in your hair so just be prepared and don't be too embarrassed about it. All of the food is good. I haven't tried all of it but I've tried some of it and it's all been good.
(5)Mandy B.
This was a wonderful brunch spot! Definitely some of the best house tea I've ever had! The place is a small house-turned restaurant. It is like visiting a grandmother's home with it's miss-matched napkins and silverware. The Beigents are delicious. I had the Eggs New Orleans. I was thrilled by the wonderful taste! I will DEFINATELY be visiting this place when I am in Fort Collins again.
(5)Deven D.
Best Eggs Benedict around, homemade jams and ketchup. Biscuits are huge and fabulous. Can get crowded on weekends so go a lil early or be prepared to wait.
(5)Travis A.
As soon as I walked in I knew this was the place for Breakfast! All of the staff was friendly and very helpful about menu items and choices. The homemade jams are to die for! The house tea (citrus cinnamon blend) was AMAZING! If you are in Fort Collins, Colorado this is a MUST! :0)
(5)Zach S.
Lucile's is the best restaurant for breakfast I have even been privileged to live near! I even went there on my birthday. Great eggs, potatoes, french donuts and specialties. Always a wait and crowded, but well worth it. And a more restful dining experience and better food than the Boulder location.
(5)Kelly F.
Fun place, great food & friendly service! The biscuits are wonderful, the orange juice really is fresh-squeezed and the beignets & cafe' au lait reminded me of being at The Cafe du Monde in New Orleans!
(4)Allen B.
Fantastic! Everything was homemade, from the jellies and jams to catsup and Louisiana hot sauce. We started with beignets that were as good or better than ones we had in New Orleans. Gina had eggs Benedict with layers of thinly sliced ham and perfect hollandaise sauce. I had a Cajun Omelette which also had a ham and spicy sausage. It was one of the tastiest I have ever had! I wish this place was in Reno. The service was excellent too.
(5)Brian K.
Great atmosphere. Fabulous food. Cute house. Was fun to find the visit one of the Luciles even though I live in Boulder right now. It's a classic. If you're reading this I'm looking for somewhere to eat you should just do it. Only problem might be it so popular, you might be in for a wait.
(4)Vanessa T.
Hands down my favorite breakfast restaurant of all time, which is so sad because I moved out of CO! I like to order Eggs Jennifer. Two poached eggs with creamy Hollandaise sauce, warm biscuit, and melt in your mouth grits. Food combinations are perfected here! My partner likes to order the breakfast dish with shrimp. Can't recall the name, but he says the shrimp tastes fresh! Come to find it's flown from the gulf, yummy! Their strawberry rhubarb sauce is delicious, and eating a warm biscuit will never be the same without it. This place gets packed! Come early if you don't want to wait hours (although, if your tummy can wait, it's worth it). I came on a Friday right at opening time to find the restaurant already filled with people, only one table open, lucky us! I docked one star because I came for lunch and had their chicken gumbo. It tasted like a slimy, chunky chili, was very disappointing.
(4)Chris L.
Absolutely amazing! Visiting from Seattle. Got seated quickly from a very polite and attentive staff. Ordered the Eggs Pontchartrain with grits and was extremely happy. Girlfriend got the Eggs Jennifer and said they were cooked perfectly, and the potatoes didn't need any ketchup because they were seasoned so well. Lots of attention to detail and a very friendly staff. Try the house spice tea!!!
(5)Katie M.
The biscuits and gravy are amazing! It gets super busy on the weekends though, try to beat the crowds if you can. Well worth the wait!
(4)Iver M.
It seems like these days all breakfast places are alike, eggs benny, some semi creative omelet choices, and pancakes covered in sugar. In this boring breakfast world Lucile's is a breath of fresh air, offering a creative twist on the classics. Great place, great people, great food. Home made condiments were on point also.
(5)Leif E.
If you don't know, you don't know... There are a few names in breakfast in Fort Collins you have to know. Lucile's is most certainly in the top 3. This is apparent when you wait for an hour to get in...and it is WELL worth the wait! Understand that all the best places in the Fort are an hour or so wait. Deal with it :-) The french toast is wonderfully decedent with the Cinnamon syrup. The beignet are huge and fluffy, bathed in powdered sugar. Biscuits and gravy fan? This is the place! I recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a restaurant with character, amazing food and fun people.
(5)Brianna K.
This morning we ventured to Lucile's for a breakfast/brunch experience. Though it was busy, the thirty minute wait passed by quickly as the outside waiting area was bathed in sunlight. I was told, "You never NEED a beignet, but you should always have one." As we waited for our main dishes, our party feasted on coffee, and beignets that arrived at our table three inches deep in powdered sugar. Luckily, it wasn't windy out on the porch. The coffee and my pain perdu were amazing, and our server was perfectly on top of keeping our coffee mugs full. Overall, Lucile's is an incredible place and I would highly recommend it.
(5)David G.
Fantastic food, always crowded. They could seat 200 and still have a wait. A little like dining at a family member's too-small house where 14 people are packed into a space for 8. Butter your hips and squirm your way through the crowd to Lucile's. The one in Longmont is phenomenal - great food without the suffocating crowds
(4)Deb S.
The restaurant is in a cute little house that has been converted into a restaurant that serves New Orleans style food. We really like eating here. We don't go too often because their hours are more limited and at the times we think of going we know there will be a long wait for a table but it is totally worth the wait if you have time and aren't trying to fit a meal in when you are limited on time. Their Beignets are SOOO good! We also love the Hanks Eggs and their homemade biscuits are really good too. The homemade jam they have on the table is really good on the biscuits! They have a little gift shop where they sell some of their spices, biscuit mixes, jams, etc.
(4)CC T.
Lucile's is great! It's a converted small little house which adds to the atmosphere however, it also adds to the crowdedness of the overall restaurant making paying, moving around to use the restroom, and waiting to be served pretty difficult. It's a bit pricey if you want anything extra added to your meal because they charge you for every little thing including most condiments or substitutions but it's a nice place to indulge for breakfast or lunch. It has delicious and spicy New Orleans style dishes however the scramblers are kind of bland and got served a little cold when my friend and I got them. Overall a good place to eat but get there early because the line is usually out the door into the street by noon.
(4)Kristen A.
We joke that we would go to Lucile's for just a Cajun Mary and a biscuit. Unfortunately, the wait is always long -- but it is most definitely worth the wait. I learned that you can get a half portion, which is still too much food for me, of some entrees. Hank's eggs & the Farmer's eggs are my favorite. The wait staff is always nice and attentive and the food generally comes out fairly quick. There are a lot of tables in a very small space, it feel quite cramped. Another downside is you after you wait 30 - 45 minutes to be seated, the wait to pay for the meal is around 5 -10 minutes.
(4)Michelle C.
Great breakfast stop for a home cooking atmosphere and friendly staff. The this is for the best, they are soft moist and made to order nothing is better.
(5)Tres B.
So many rave over Lucile's, I a few things great, like their homemade catsup and hot sauce. But the food was not remarkable . My wife's French toast was just ok, and my Farmer's Scrabble, was congealed mess in bright orange and served almost cold. The best part was the large homemade biscuit. Also, it's very cramped, sit outside if you can. But people bumble at the register, some paying, some trying to get their name in, others mailing about and it is really inefficient. They need a station on the porch to handle the mass cluster ----.-
(3)Kendra H.
Wow, the food here is excellent! We went for Sunday brunch and got eggs pontchartrain, Cajun breakfast and the haunted hash special. All the food was great, and the bloody Mary's are worth a try. The only reason I gave it four stars was because the service was poor. Granted, it was busy, but they messed up our orders and were slow to correct them. We had to keep reminding them to fix it. I would definitely go back, but perhaps when it isn't so busy.
(4)Tim C.
Outstanding food and service! Go with the recommendation of half portions. Beignets were warm, light and tasty. Hollandaise was perfect. Go early, beat the crowd and enjoy.
(5)Donald S.
The best. This is the place I take all out-of-town visitors, as the food, ambience, service, etc are simply amazing. Worth the wait.
(5)Dustin H.
Sunday mid-morning breakfast. 20 min wait. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Bloody Mary's were perfect. Other than the outdoor wait on a brisk fall morning, had a great breakfast.
(4)Jason M.
Always tasty and certainly unique in Fort Collins, Lucille's seems to be permanently busy. It's in a small house in Old Town which adds a great deal to the atmosphere. Wait times on weekends can stretch into the realm of ludicrous but the wait is worth it for Louisiana style cooking. I love the Pain Purdue(French toast) and my wife always gets the eggs Jennifer. Bottom line: best breakfast I. Fort Collins.
(4)Alisha L.
Excellent food, excellent service. It has a great atmosphere and patio too! The biscuits are phenomenal.
(5)Mila G.
I LOVE LUCILE'S! We would take my mom here every time she was in town. It's so popular that there's usually 1+ hour wait, and they don't take reservations. But it is completely worth it. It's a Louisiana comfort-food place, with amazing brunch and coffee. The wait staff is fabulous, and is great at making suggestions if you're stumped. The decor is like an old southern home, and they use fabric as napkins. If you do come on a busy day, come early and drop someone off with a book to hold your spot.
(5)Evelyn C.
Delicious. Definitely go here for breakfast, or even lunch. Cute place, good location.
(5)Steven F.
Cajun breakfast was very good blackened salmon with eggs & grits. Will be back tomorrow to try another dish. Service was very good and very polite
(5)Jennifer S.
Such a cute & cozy little restaurant with very friendly fast service. My friend and I met here for lunch, and we ordered beignets to start off our meal. It was my first time ever trying beignets, and they were so delicious! Perfectly fried. I ordered the shrimp po boy sandwich. I didn't expect it to be so humongous, and the waitress had warned me that it was going to be heavily fried but I thought I'd try it anyway. Yes, the shrimp were heavily fried with thick batter -- so much friedness in one sandwich, which I'm not a fan of. BUT that is what the waitress said, and it is what a true Southern fried shrimp po boy should be like. However, I'd didn't particularly enjoy the sauce and the flavors of the sandwich. The fried batter overwhelmed everything. Nevertheless, I ate about 1/2 and took the rest of it home. The next day for lunch, I ate the leftovers but I scraped off all the fried batter on the shrimp! I'm giving this place 4 stars because of the atmosphere, service, and quality of food (the beignets and my friend's dish). I'll definitely have to go and try again, but probably not the shrimp po boy.
(4)Jiro R.
Love this place but near impossible to get a table during weekend brunch times. Everything is fresh and the beignets are to die for. Never had a weekday lunch but I'm sure it's excellent.

One word: FANTASTIC!! I have never been to New Orleans, so I can't speak for authenticity, but let me tell you that the food is amazing!! This is not a "take it out of the box and slap it on your plate" kind of restaurant! The biscuits are as big as my child's head, the beignets where DELICIOUS, the French toast was so different from typical French toast, and the farmers plate is some kind of crazy deliciousness! Lucile's is worth every penny! This is my new favorite breakfast spot in the whole country! You must try a mocha coffee!
(5)T L.
always a wait, but worth it. cozy atmosphere and delicious breakfast food. the beignets are delicious to be sure but they take a back seat to their strawberry rhubarb jam.
(4)Timothy C.
This unassuming little yellow house is filled with all the deliciousness of New Orleans. Their beignets are just as good as Cafe du Monde and their biscuits are legendary. Be adventurous and try one of their Cajun breakfasts and you won't regret it!

My family and I recently moved to Fort Collins, and are truly loving the unique charm of the city. While touring Old Town we stopped by for lunch. I must say the staff was extremely helpful and kind, & the food selection was perfect. This is truly a gem of Fort Collins, & we will definitely recommend to others. Thank you
(5)Christopher B.
This was recommended to us for breakfast... wow, did my friends nail it! Loved it! The beignets were absolutely amazing. If I didn't order a breakfast I would probably have eaten every single one of them! I ordered the special of the day- a mash!? I didn't even know what it was. Basically it's a mix of squash, potatoes, apples, and other stuff with poached eggs on top. I asked for the bearnaise sauce on the side since I don't like my food drowned by it. The dish was absolutely wonderful. However, the highlight might have been the side- homemade (light and fluffy) biscuits with homemade jam! Hello!!! How could you beat that??? It was a nice fall day so we sat outside. It was a good option because we didn't have to wait and by the time we left (after 10AM) there was a considerable number of people waiting for seating. Everything about this place was great. Highly recommended for breakfast!
(5)Sharon N.
Always a treat to go here. Worth the wait in line. Tried almost everything on the menu, and have never been disappointed. Always fresh and flavorful. A must is the beignets and the biscuits, but try not to over indulge in them so you can have room for the meal, which is always a large portion.
(5)Kirsten G.
Fantastically amazing every time. Always accommodates us within 39 minutes! Great food and service!
(5)Mari W.
I am probably the 194th person to rave about their beignets; yes it's true. I was in New Orleans this past summer and there is no difference between the beignets you can get there or at Lucille's. It was interesting to me that they were listed as an appetizer instead of a dessert because they are basically doughnuts with a cup of powered sugar on top. (not to discredit their glory...) Apparently people cant wait until dessert for these delightful pillows of the Gods. (Can you tell i like them?) The food is fantastic and they know how to cook a good salmon. The chai tea is wonderful! It's a great fun place to meet someone for lunch although try to get there before the lunch rush. 11 seems to be a good time to go because the house (literally) does get packed!
(5)Eva M.
Fast service, delicious biscuits and jam make Lucille's a no-brainer choice any day of the week. I had the Cajun omelet with the perfect ratio of cheese, egg, and meat. Plus the grits remind me of home. The warning: you will fill up fast and they don't skimp on the portions. Do not try to eat the whole plate. Service is fast and friendly but be early because there usually is a wait.
(5)Wendell F.
Wow! Simply amazing. Best and most fresh breakfast in NoCo.
(5)Calily B.
Before you even walk inside, your nose will take notice of the delicious smells coming from this little cottage turned creole restaurant! It must be those trays full of drop biscuits!! The space is small so expect to wait on a busy morning -- we were able to get in pretty quickly because the two of us sat at the bar. I had the pain perdu which was perfect. The hot sausage that came with the dish was not your regular breakfast sausage but rather a spicy link -- my fave! My boyf had the Hank's Eggs. It was a big heaping of spicy potatoes, eggs, and veggies! We couldn't even eat it all because it was a mountain of food. The dish was spicy and flavorful! Service was great and the patrons around us were all having a great time! Who knew you could get a delicious creole inspired breakfast in CO? I can't even get that in TX!
(5)Jessica S.
Delicious!! Worth the wait! Everything tastes amazing! A great place to order a breakfast appetizer & share a meal. They serve large portions, so come ready to eat!!
(5)Caspian B.
The beignets and fried bananas are the best! If you ever go there, I demand you order those because they are worth it
(5)Katie S.
Best breakfast spot I've found in northern Colorado. The biscuits and preserves are amazing and the spicy Bloody Mary can't be beat.
(5)Jason P.
By far the best breakfast place we have ever been to. Their home made jam and jellies over biscuits are out of control. Their beignets covered in powered sugar serve as a good starter. We had a party of 9 and they took amazing care of us. Everyone left the restaurant raving about the food. We will come back the next time we visit Ft Collins.
(5)Flora Z.
Hanging out with Luke. We got po' boy eggplant and banana beignets as dessert. They r soooo good and enough for two people! Love this place!
(5)Elaina R.
This place has been pretty extensively reviewed (for good reason) so I'll keep it short and simple. If it's the weekend, there's gonna be a wait. But I will wait patiently and faithfully every time knowing that inside they hold my usual order of Eggs New Orleans, the tastiest breakfast I have ever had. Not "quite possibly" the tastiest... THE TASTIEST. I've tried quite a few things on the menu and they're all good, but the Eggs New Orleans blows my socks off every time. (Two large slices of fried eggplant, topped with poached eggs, creole sauce, and hollandaise. Perfect with potatoes.) Service and biscuits are also outstanding. Price is on par with every other breakfast place in town, even cheaper than an omelette at IHOP or Denny's. I have never regretted the wait.
(5)N J.
Good, not great cajun food. I suppose that only makes sense, since so much cajun fare is seafood based and Colorado is land locked. We got the shrimp etouffee which while generous in size, was a touch bland, and the cajun breakfast which was also a little on the mild side. We did enjoy the cornbread and the gigantic home made biscuit with home made strawberry rhubarb and blueberry jams however, as well as the spiced iced tea. The place is cute and quaint, with lots of faux Southern atmosphere and the prices are reasonable. I could see going back just for the ambiance as opposed to the food.
(3)Lauren B.
Oh gosh, do I love this place. Sure it gets a lot of hype, but it's (mostly) all true! It can get pretty packed on weekend mornings, so I recommend trying for a later time if possible (I have usually come around lunch, though I always order breakfast). If you haven't tried the beignets you might as well, they're somewhat of a signature item here. You get 4, so make sure you bring friends to share with! They're pretty good, kind of like funnel cake. Honestly I can live without them, but for a first timer they're a must. The seating is cramped, but the ambiance is very cozy. Even when you manage to get stuck at the table in the corner, it doesn't take away too much from the overall experience. The napkins are super cute too. The biscuits are heavenly. They come out as these massive cubes of bread, but once you get your first forkful you'll have a hard time leaving it alone. Definitely investigate the condiments on your table to see what tickles your fancy. The homemade preserves are a great supplement to the already delicious biscuit. I've tried a few of the dishes here, and sampled from friends' fare, but my all time favorite breakfast item would have to be Eggs New Orleans. You get fried eggplant smothered in creole sauce, topped with poached eggs and some fantastic hollandaise sauce. I recommend getting the potatoes as a side. For one, I'm not a huge fan of grits. Second, those who are grits savvy are usually not overly impressed by them. As my momma said (really, this is what she said), you can't find any decent grits outside of Tennessee. I can almost guarantee you'll be needing a to-go box. I never finish my food here, especially when I pre-grame with a biscuit (and sometimes a beignet). Be prepared for meals of epic proportions, literally. If you're (un)lucky you'll have gotten a parking spot very far away and will get a chance to walk off some of your meal on your way out.
(5)Kate M.
The Food: Amazing and totally worth the wait! My favorite is the Farmer's Eggs and the biscuits are to die for. And might I add I am not satisfied until I've had one of their Mocha Au Laits. The Service: Always friendly. Their staff is so eclectic and part of the fun in going. The Environment: Neat old house turned into a restaurant. The decor is Louisiana Cajun. The downside is the house does get crammed, especially in the winter. This does not make for comfortable eating at times if you are seated by the door as you will be blasted several times with icy wind every time the door opens (which is often). Sometimes people even stand right next to your table, hovering over your meal as they wait for a table. Overall: The meal is a little pricey, but I am always willing to pay for great taste and the portions are worth the money. The line can make for a long wait at peak hours, so my advice is to go when it's not freezing out cause there is no room to wait inside.
(4)Katie M.
We had an amazing breakfast this morning. It started off with the absolute best hot tea I've ever had in my life. It was a cinnamon Orange hot tea that had such amazing flavors, it tasted as if there was sugar in it, but the waiter assured me there was not. Next we got our homemade biscuit.it arrives before the rest of your food so you can enjoy homemade rhubarb jam, apple butter, or pineapple Jam to spread on your warm biscuit.then we got to lovely dishes, my partner ordered the blackened salmon with poached eggs and potatoes, and I ordered the eggs New Orleans.both dishes were delightful, well cooked, and perfectly spiced.if you can believe it, one of our favorite parts of our meal was the homemade ketchup that complements the home cooked potatoes perfectly.overall the whole experience was wonderful.
(5)Barry D.
Honestly, the best breakfast restaurant I have experienced. Everything on your plate has had careful consideration, most of which is home made at the restaurant including the ketchup and jams, all with a New Orleans flair. There is usually a wait, but it is well worth it!
(5)William C.
So amazing. I didn't even know how to order a breakfast that came with three delicious starches. I learned something new. The biscuits were a must. The donuts were a must. Going anywhere else for breakfast is a mistake. Don't make this mistake. Eat at this place.
(5)Jason O.
First experience with Creole food. Interesting place, and it's really good! The beignets are delicious, and the Pain Perdu was just what I was looking for that morning. I'll plan on going back next time I'm in the area.
(4)Lionel L.
This place is amazing. A little piece of New Orleans in Colorado. Was driving through Fort Collins on a road trip and decided to stop by for breakfast based on the ratings - great decision. I was seated at the bar, and got a biscuit with gravy, and their shrimp & grits. The biscuit was so flaky, buttery and delicious and the gravy was rich and flavorful. The shrimp was fresh, and the grits were tasty with the sauteed chili peppers it came with, and some dashes of hot sauce. Would definitely have liked to try more stuff off the menu, but the portions here were huge and I would have made a fool of myself. The servers are really friendly here too, and the whole place is just really nicely decorated, with a great ambience. You should definitely check it out if you're in the area!
(5)Janette G.
This place deserves the high praise that it gets. The service is impeccable. The atmosphere is inviting and relaxed. The food is tremendous! I'm not usually a fan of biscuits but these are no ordinary biscuits. The coffee? To die for! It was the perfect roast with no acidity. Oh yeah... The food.... Incomparable and indescribable. I had poached eggs over flounder with grits. My boyfriend had hash and we split an order of pan cakes. They were all amazing.
(5)Miriam M.
Going to Lucille's for breakfast was my absolute favorite thing to do in Fort Collins! Unfortunately, we moved to Thornton, and they do not have a Lucille's here. I miss the House Spice Tea they used to serve. Don't even get me started on the home made jams and preserves. I will definitely stop by the next time I'm in Fort Collins.
(5)James W.
Their food is excellent! Bloody Mary's are as well!
(5)Charley C.
WOW! Our friends in Fort Collins took us here for breakfast / lunch, - Great service, and great cajun cooking. The Shrimp Creole I had was wonderful, and everyone at the table loved their entrees. The dessert we split was to notch as well! This is my kind of place and I would go back in a heartbeat. The menu is wonderful and eating out on the patio was fabulous
(5)Anya E.
I have driven by Lucile's many times. Each time there were always a crowd waiting outside. My husband J and I finally made it here for breakfast (9am-ish, weekday) around the holidays and found ourselves waiting behind a few groups - not bad for Lucile's. We were seated within 15 minutes. The interior is very cute and cozy, perhaps a little too cozy. We were seated near the entry way, and had people who chose to wait inside leaned against the back J's chair which was uncool. Our waitress greeted us about 10 minutes after were seated but then promptly brought us our drinks. My fresh squeezed oj was worth whatever it cost. It was fresh, pulpy and just delicious. We started off with the famous beignets which were served piping hot sprinkled with lots of powdered sugar. They were as yummy as they looked and much larger than we had anticipated. Very happy with these. J had some sort of poached eggs, with sauce, potatoes, sausage gravy and biscuit. I had an omelette with andoullie sausage and some type of red sauce. Both dishes were made with great quality ingredients and well prepared. I liked J's dish a bit more than mine. The biscuit and gravy were some of the best I've had in a restaurant. Service was a quite slow and our waitress had a cold demeanor, though not unfriendly. Other than that it was a good experience.
(4)Mark L.
One of the great breakfast restaurants in Northern Coloardo. Huge serving sizes, fresh ingredients cooked to perfection. real chickory coffee (which I love) and southern hospitality in Northern Colorado. Lucile's does cajun right, the tables are tights, and the joint is always jumpin'! Go once and check them out and you will become a regular!
(5)Martha W.
I've eaten here before, and I do remember it being better. This time I had the Zydeco (sp?) salad and it was just so, so. I wouldn't recommend this salad, but would recommend the restaurant.
(3)Priscilla L.
Ordered the farmers breakfast, absolutely delicious. Very big portion size, consider splitting this plate. The beignets we're great, crisp & light. The biscuits are gigantic & flaky. The house coffee was delicious. Cute environment, felt like I was at Lucilles personal home.
(4)I W.
I was really looking forward to a cajun breakfast. I ordered the Claytin County. Generally, it was OK. Biscuits and gravy were the standout and definitely 4 stars. Biscuit was very fluffy and gravy had a nice flavor with a little kick. I used their home made hot sauce to amp it up a bit more. Bean with meat (shredded hamhock?) was a good concept, but I found it very heavy and gummy in texture. Some diced fresh tomatoes and onions would have lightened the texture and made this much fresher. Grits were standard fare. Ice tea has no sugar, but cinnamon oil makes it taste sweet. Let's just say it was not my cup of tea. However, people who like sweet teas may enjoy it. It was nice to sit outside since it was pretty hot and stuffy inside. Some brought their dogs. Place was packed for breakfast with about a 30 minute wait. We checked out the farmers market about 3 short blocks away while we waited for a table.
(3)Amanda H.
Amazing food and service. The only bad thing is it is very crowded...but the food is well worth it!!
(5)Lisa B.
cafe mocha and anything with their homemade biscuit and gravy..a must!
(4)Emily H.
Tasty beignets and po' boys, and yummy coffee drinks! Our only complaint was the slow service--I understand that it's a popular and busy restaurant, but we felt a little ignored.
(4)Amanda B.
When I think of Fort Collins (where I spent four years in college), Lucille's is one of the first things that come to mind, and I didn't even discover it until almost too late. Yes, it's Creole-inspired, and I think that may be off-putting or pigeon-holing for some people. But the food has the taste and the quirk that Fort Collins people like me look for. It's always delicious, always interesting, and the service and ambiance are great. It feels like you're eating in your Aunt Margaret's living room, and that she really likes to sew, make preserves, and take your money. :) Favorites include: Eggs Jennifer and their delightful French toast. Their iced tea is super popular, as are their beignets. Downside: There's typically a line, but it's worth the wait. Also, get ready to brush elbows with fellow patrons. Use it as an excuse to lean over and try their dish.
(5)Zoe F.
So delicious! The beignets are amazing and all of the egg entrees are delicious. Everyone who works there is so nice and it is totally worth the usual wait on the weekends.
(5)Sanne B.
We went to Lucile's for breakfast sunday morning. There was no waiting time when we got there at 8.10 am. 10 minutes later there was a queue. The restaurant gets a bit crowded with all the tables so close together, but the noise level is rather okay. Our food was okay - some was great (like the omelet, the biscuits and the jam and the homemade ketchup) and some was not so good (like the overcooked salmon). I'm from Europe, so there might be something I don't understand. As a breakfast place Lucile's is one of the best I've tried. In my opinion good breakfast is hard to find (also in Copenhagen - my home town). So I might come back another time.
(3)Meghan O.
Mom and I were in Fort Collins just for the morning and I have been in charge of finding the best food wherever we are so we tried Lucile's because it was so highly rated...SO GLAD that we did!!! The best part of this excursion was my Mom saying "You've brought me to a hole in the wall!" before we actually entered the place. Exterior of Lucile's leaves something to be desired but it is a cute and friendly little house that is representative of the super cozy, down home vibe inside. Also, it was PACKED! but we were seated immediately. Our waitress was extremely sweet and informative, spent so much time with us explaining what was on the menu and even local things to do in Fort Collins. We had to try the beignets because Yelpers were dying over them and they were pretty yummy (but not amazing or anything). I had the mountain fish...one of the first things on the menu and it was absolutely incredible. My Mom had the benedict style eggs on english muffins...can you say "insanely amazingly good?" We both tried each others meals and were stuffed pigs by the end of it all. I kept teasing my Mom because she called this place a "hole in the wall" before we went in and it is everything BUT. The food is to die for, the prices are very reasonable, the atmosphere is warm and inviting (you can tell that the locals love it!) and I only wish that we had spent more time in Fort Collins so we could try more of what Lucile's had to offer. Don't skip this place and if you're within an hour of this place you'd better make the trek to try it out!
(5)A B.
Favorite place for breakfast. Hanks eggs is the bomb and they make a killer bloody. It sucks there is always a line on the weekends, but usually doesn't take too long.
(4)Bob L.
This place can be described in one word. OUTSTANDING!!! The food is among the best I have had in months. Fresh, homemade, and delicious. The biscuit was undoubtedly the best I have had in my life. The food was a culinary orgasm in my mouth. The only gripe I have is the price and the size of the restaurant. It is a bit pricey and the place is a bit small. If it were cheaper I would probably go everyday.
(5)Christine A.
This place was so good! I had the biscuits and gravy and my husband had the french toast. The biscuits were enormous and the gravy was great. The french toast was made with actual french bread (amazing) and the syrup was heavenly. This place is so incredibly good, I cannot wait to go back. I lived in the South for years and this place is definitely legit!
(5)Libby C.
I had the Eggs Jennifer. It would have been better if there wasn't SO much spinach on it! It really kindof took over the whole dish. Beignets were yummy of course.
(3)Erin C.
I LOVE Lucile's! I would consider moving to FoCo just so I can visit this place every weekend!! Friend and I came on a Sunday morning. Expect to wait a while; even for just two people we waited about 45 mins. I thought to myself, "this better be worth the wait," and it was! This isn't your average breakfast diner. The food is different thanks to the Cajun/Creole flavor and SO GOOD. I had to try the beignets, which were delicious with their homemade jam. Also ordered their Cafe Au Lait - YUM! Entree was a half order of Hank's Eggs, delicious. I love the half order system, I got to try a little bit of everything. Especially helpful since it was served with an absolutely GIANT biscuit! Also good with their jam. Friend ordered the Pain Perdu, she enjoyed it very much. I would LOVE to come back!!
(5)M P.
searched this place out from Yelp reviews....started with the iced tea, which was some super sweet cinnamon concoction and immediately gave me a stomach ache...very heavy, strong foods that didn't go over very well with us
(3)Steve G.
This is the place for real Cajun food. It has always been delicious. The place is an old house and is always crowded, so be prepared to wait, but it is well worth it.
(5)Aaron J.
This place is absolutely unbelievable. I always make sure I have time for breakfast here before I head back home. The food is amazing. The beignets at the start are just the beginning of the ass kicking your taste buds will receive. I always order the Hank's Eggs and my girlfriend gets the French Toast. I can tell you right now, they do not skimp on the portions. The prices look a bit high compared to other places, but the portions and quality of ingredients are beyond worth it. Aside from the main courses it's the smaller things that are surprising as well, like the homemade ketchup and apple butter on the tables. They also make the best biscuits I've ever had. You won't be disappointed with the food, atmosphere, or service you receive here. However, if you go on the weekend just be prepared to wait for a bit. The place isn't very large and there's almost always a line out the door when I visit.
(5)Brandon W.
Food was excellent! My wife had the eggplant dish. The pan fried eggplant was fresh and crispy and went well with the poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. I had the eggs ponchatrain which was also perfectly cooked and paired well with my "Cajun Mary" (bloody Mary). 1 star was taken for the rude hostess. There was a 20-30 minute wait but I would say well worth it!
(4)Matt F.
This is my favorite place for brunch! Being in a converted house in Old Town really ramps up the coziness of this restaurant; there isn't a lot of room to move around, and the vibe is by no means upscale, however, the food talks, and loudly. Expect long waits on weekends, with convenient deliveries of their excellent Bloody Marys while you're waiting, usually outside. Their food is cajun-derived, but isn't too spicy for the average palate. They make their own ketchup, hot sauce, jams, jellies, and apple butter; all of which are excellent. I'd recommend the Eggs Benedict or the Pain Perdu, they're both among the best you'll find in Fort Collins.
(5)Sam B.
Very friendly staff. Food was not bad. I enjoyed the atmosphere and experience of being there. Excellent sausage gravy and biscuit. The scrambles were ok, but get something else instead.
(5)Ashley H.
Pretty much always a wait..... so if you're in a rush don't bet on getting in right a way. The chicory coffee is really good. You MUST get an order of the beignets. Powdered sugar - get in me bellyyy, but first top it with the homemade rhubarb strawberry jam. I usually get Hank's Eggs. It doesn't look like eggs - it looks more like potatoes with sauce on them, but they're tasty.
(4)Sarah C.
Had breakfast here while visiting from out of town and it was amazing and totally worth the 30 minute wait. We started with beignets (delicious). The mimosas were awesome (fresh oj, small bottle of bubbly and a glass to mix them yourself) but apparently the bloody marys were only ok. I had the eggplant cajun type eggs benedict dish and it was very tasty and full of flavor, but just a bit greasy. The biscuit and variety of sauces at the table were also great - loved the strawberry rhubarb jam. I don't usually like ketchup but the homemade version was not bad. Given the portions, prices were totally reasonable. This place is definitely worth a visit. You will not be disappointed if you wait it out for a table on a busy weekend morning.
(5)C V.
I've been to this location once several years ago and I frequent the Denver location semi regularly for brunch. The Fort Collins location is a converted house (much like the one if Boulder). I was there at around noon on a Tuesday and had no issue parking, nor was there a wait for lunch. On the food front, I went with the cajun breakfast. I'm a huge fan of the red beans and the biscuits with house made strawberry rhubarb jelly make make me downright giddy. So very tasty. I was given a choice on grits and opted to try sweet potato. Don't know if this is an option at the other locations but, if it is, I recommend giving them a try. I usually eat a small portion of the grits but I had a hard time walking away from these tasty morsels. One other thing worth pointing out is that the iced tea that is served here is spiced. I really enjoyed the flavor but, if you are not a fan of flavored tea, you may want to opt for something else to drink. A bloody mary perhaps?
(5)Jason G.
I love this place. It's my favorite breakfast spot ever. I love the creole home-style feeling of the place down to the hand cut fabric napkins. And the food is amaze if you're into creole/Cajun cookin'! The wait can be really bad on weekends due to the hangover crowd.
(5)Chris H.
After moving out of northern Colorado, Lucille's is one of the restaurants I miss the most. I used to go here about once a week for years. In that entire time, I've never had any complaints. The is consistently prepared and presented in top notch fasion. The service is friendly and competent. My only complaint is the limited seating. But that may be what gives Lucille's part of it's charm.
(5)David K.
(4)Bailey B.

(2)Beth-Anne H.

(5)Katy M.
Incredible, worth every second of the wait to get in. The staff is so friendly, and the food is delicious
(5)Mike K.
(5)Emilie B.
(4)Hailey K.

(5)Ben S.
(4)Pete D.

(5)Jennifer H.
(5)Shad G.
(5)Lisa B.
cafe mocha and anything with their homemade biscuit and gravy..a must!
(4)Emily H.
Tasty beignets and po' boys, and yummy coffee drinks! Our only complaint was the slow service--I understand that it's a popular and busy restaurant, but we felt a little ignored.
(4)Anya E.
(5)Amanda B.
(5)Meghan O.

(3)Sam B.

Ehhh... we got a table on the patio (with only about a 5-minute wait!) which was perfect on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
(3)M G.
(5)Kitty B.

(5)Carolyn V.

(4)Artie L.
(5)CHRISTINA S.
(5)David J.
(5)Sarah S.
(2)Danielle M.
(5)Jennifer F.
(5)Christina P.
(4)Kelly H.
(5)Emily M.

While I don't think they completely live up to the hype and I'm not ready to say they are the best breakfast in town, I will say that with good, freshly home-made food in a unique locally owned joint, it's a place that Fort Collins is lucky to have. We need this kind of variety here in town.

I love going to Lucile's. The food and service are excellent.

Amazing food, good prices! I recommend this place if you're looking for a different breakfast place. Most of the best items on the menu are not low-calorie, be warned, but if that doesn't keep you up at night, try the beignets! The strawberry rhubarb jam is delicious on those and the biscuits!

What's not to love. The staff is awesome and the food rocks.

Excellent cajun breakfast and homemade style.

Lucile's is always busy. It is a tiny restaurant. It has great food but you usually have to wait. I love their biscuits and gravy. You NEED to get the beignets. They are delicious!
(5)Abigail G.
they have the best biscuits and the best homemade jams! on top of that, their breakfast is superb.
(1)George G.
Best breakfast in town. Period.
(5)Rochelle D.
Delish.
(5)Kirsten W.

(2)Jenn M.
(4)Alexandra R.
The best breakfast in town.
